Anyone else been muted for Looking For a Group?

Yesterday I was just using /world and /Lookingforgroup to… you know… look for a group so I could do ZF - Not that I would get accepted since I’m a rogue anyway, but still, I thought I’d try…

A few hours later mid-quest I randomly got DC’d and found myself muted in /s /w /y /1 /2 /3 /4 /5 /6 and essentially everything apart from /p and /g… Wtf Activision?

Has anyone else ran into this? Now I can’t /s to people who are are the same quest as me for an inv, nor can I /inv or /w them to let them know, it says I’m ignored… Fantastic. Raised a ticket but it’ll probably get sorted by the time I’m back at work and am unable to hit 60 before then since I can’t freakin find groups. Thanks Activision.

You probably spammed to much. No need to ask for group here and there every 10 sec.

Activision clearly has a personal vendetta against you. I heard that the exec board singled you out as a person in their last meeting and decided to mute you. You should take this really personally and maybe get a lawyer.

Or it’s a bug and you should wait for your ticket to be resolved like a rational person.

You must have spammed, unless a guild group have a personal vendetta against you (since they can abuse the silence system and mass report players.)

I wasn’t spamming, just regular use of the channels…

This also happend an hour or two after I even used them, some sort of “We’re about to ruin your classic experience and obliterate any chances of hitting 60 before you return to work” warning would’ve also been nice…

Dude get a lawyer. This is serious. It’s definitely not a bug.

Your trolling skill is currently 1/175 and needs alot of work

It’s not trolling, it’s called “joking” - there’s a difference
Just submit a ticket, Classic is full of small bugs at the moment.

That is terrible for you. Send me your Classic in-game name and I will send you some silver so you can visit the trolling trainer in your faction city to upgrade your troll skills.

By the way there’s almost the same people in /world and / LookingForGroup so there’s no point to send the same message to both channels. That’s not the reason for mute ofc. Blizzard’s muting system works automatically. You get mute if several players report you for any reason. It’s your “friends” maybe?

In what language was it?
What was the delay between each message?
At any moment, di you get frustrated and spammed a little bit?
Did you get on an argument with someone because of your lfg ?

Seems you’re not telling the whole story here.

I think i’ve reported over 30 people so far for spamming the same msg 3 plus times in a row. i dont care how badly you want your run, dont spam the same thing 3 times within 2 secs. now this isnt aimed at the OP just in general.

This, if your message appears more often than every 15 sec or so, or if you post it more than once in a row repeatedly (so it’s not just a misclick of macro), right click, report player, spam. “This guy is abusing the lookingforgroup channel, please mute”

In come the stream of comments that you “must have deserved it” for five people to report you. GJ Blizzard giving GM powers to players to grief others wtf.

There is no evidence that Blizzard ever reads tickets in response to silences or that they punish false reports. It’s a completely automated process.

Amazing that people still finding happines with causing problems to others.

If he did spam, maybe you should whisp to stop it pls cos frustrating (for the first time), and if he still spam, report it.

Thought classic diff here, have more “interraction”, but seems the same as BFA in this point.

Yes of course. But any such spam immediately generates a several responses like “dude stop with the spam”. If he continues, I and others feel completely justified to report.

You mean other than the people who have stated in these forums that at least some of their mutes have been overturned on appeal?

By the way how do you know it is only 5 people, do you have any proof to back up that claim?

Nothing more annoying than people posting LF1M DPS DM every 1 minutes. You frikkin’ wait at least 5 minutes and even that is pushing it imo.

I don’t know for sure that it takes 5 people, it’s what I read from others based on testing. Blizzard doesn’t have the staff to read every report and verify it. And even if they do, if a group of people silence me for lols and it takes Blizzard days to check it, the damage has already been done because I couldn’t talk or group for a period of time.

There’s no evidence that a single person has ever been banned for false reporting.
