Anyone else getting abit concerned?

This is not intended as a doom and gloom post , however i have never had so many friends leave this early in a wow expansion. Out of the 40 ish people i know that play wow and tend to play at least the first 6 months i got about 7 that still play and all of them are in our premade mythic + group. Anyone else getting the feeling that alot of people stopped playing?
Not directly, but I can feel it myself.
I have months gametime left, but I don't think I'll be renewing.
8.1 looks to have maybe a few weeks worth of content for me.
Then it's back to the current state of the game for me; boredom.

At this very moment the boredom is suppressed because I'm leveling up a horde alt to experience that side of the story. But I won't be gearing that alt up like I do my main. I have no interest in that.

Maybe 8.2 will provide some good solutions. Hopefully Blizzcon will provide hope. But I'm not counting on it tbh.
My friends list has been looking a bit quieter.
Same for me, friends list are 1/4 online compared to the start of BfA. 5 real life mates started BfA, and I'm the only one still playing.

Guild raids were 20-30, and struggling to get 10 online now. Alts been through 2 guilds thay have died/stopped raiding/gone on a break.

Pretty quiet at the mo. Think 8.1 will be decent with atleast another raid, more content and new allied races. Should pick up abit soon.
The whiners are very vocal.
Those that are enjoying the game or at least happy enough rarely frequent the forums/reddit/youtube doomsayers.
Things may not be ideal but we can already see changes coming (vendor/currency gear for example) that will make quite a bit of difference to peoples feelings about the game. RNG (mainly) aquisition isn't always fun. Great when you are lucky but regularly deflating. Currency systems give us something to work towards, especially to fill in those 'persistantly unlucky' item slots.
Both methods of progress aquisition should work along side each other.

As for friends leaving the game...I'm actually seeing the opposite. This is a believe is due to the average age of my guildies being around 35...they have real jobs, families etc.... besides alot more life experience so tend to be more patient and pragmatic.
Apart from one or two exceptions they are not ingame all the time so play maybe 10-20 hrs a week.
I tend to see the most doom and gloom on youtube from people like Heelvsbabyface who is just a moaner...the sort of person who will end up with no friends (or who has none already as he spends all his time making vids slagging off WoW) because he drags around a black cloud with him wherever he goes.

That old failthful " I am critisising and moaning because I care " is horse!@#$. Try that on your partner and it will ensure a speedy breakup/divorce.

Activity is fairly low , you can see by the number of m+ , pvp , queues .

Or maybe they are doing some old raids and farming pets on some island XD or battle pet , who knows ?

What I do during the lulls is level alts. Currently leveling my blue-elf, taking my time...reading the quests and completing zones 100%, dungeons and BGs on the way. I am really enjoying it and feels totally relaxed...just as a pastime should be.
Its because the best contents in BfA comes from other expansions and is not really new except for the raid and a few dungeons

All the new ideas blizzard had was not that appreciated
Unfortunately development fraked up so much, that the game requires an "addon patch" with GBs weight.

That`s not going to happen, because this would mean that the company publicly confirmes a total failure, their arrogance won`t make it happen.

Expect a low portions of patches to adjust the commited atrocity. Patch here, patch there, but instead of a cure this will make an abomination with loads of bandages , supported with crutches, but an abomination still.

That reminds me of an items like " Has X chance to proc an ability to increase X proc rate to recieve X stat, based on your highest X stat, that would decrease by X per X seconds. Approximately X procs per minute". /facepalm
My old friendlist is very empty... Only a few is still ingame, but who knows if they might return, or when they left (they weren't here when I returned before bfa release).

But it's not a new thing, some people only come to see what's new and then they leave again... Happened to some of those I have known over the years.

If it's an age related thing, then just wait some expansions... The 60+ yo friends I have that play, are the most persistent players I have known ^_^

Edit: Typos
The problem is blizz is seriously running out of time to salvage BfA. Cods just landed with the BR mode that every ones loving at the mo. Red dead 2 which is hyped like mad just landed.

New battlefield in 2 and half weeks. That's alot of very top quality games out, that will last till next year.
I noticed its maybe a little quieter the last few weeks, but I mainly play on a low pop realm and the guild I’m in was pretty much offline players through the 2nd half of Legion anyway, of my in game friends most still playing although some taking a break now until 8.1, on the high pop realm I play on I am seeing plenty of players around in the hubs and don`t even always have to join groups for world bosses as often enough people in the area already.

Very short waiting time to get into islands , or to get groups for world bosses when I need one, and whenever warfronts have been up q time has been under a minute even at off peak times , so that suggests a lot of players are still happily playing.

Looking forward to 8.1 there looks to be a lot of nice improvements, islands look to be more fun, looking forward to the 2 new ones, and nice we will have something to save those dubloons up for. Looking forward to the new warfront and incursions too, I hope to level up some more of my alts in 8.1 through incursions/islands and a little bit of questing.

I think 8.1 will make the game more fun for me, although I am still having fun currently.
WCR's graph is back!

http://www.warcraftrealms.com/weeklyfactionactivity.php

suggests that the drop after the first month was pretty steep. I've noticed it myself but only very recently, starting about last week. But we're still at early 7.3 levels of activity, which is not as bad as it could be.

It does put a lot of pressure on 8.1, though, because if that doesn't spark activity, another similar drop could make the rest of the expansion very dead.
I think I also have about 1/4 of my friends list still subbed, maybe a bit less, 1/5 I'd say. I knew that some were only there to see what's new, how the story evolves, and I also knew they would not keep playing (even though some bought the 6 months sub + dreadwake).

It's no big deal on horde side as you can still very easily find groups for pretty much anything. Same thing cannot be said for the Alliance though.

I laughed hard. Like nervous laughter.
My IRL friends that had come back are all gone except one that is still playing. However, I do know quite a few people in-game that do play, but the drop in activity is noticeable to me. When I log in SC2 to play and check the friends list, I see maybe 10-15 friends playing WoW, while 2 months ago it was 40+.

Call of Duty 4 having Battle Royal, not to mention Red Dead Redemption 2 coming out. There's a lot of new games that a lot of gamers WANT to play, so WoW's popularity will go down.
I would like to play something else, but unfortunately, there aren't really any good alternatives at the moment.

I mean, as bad as blizzard has made the wow experience with BfA, in it's hemorraging state, it is still better than anything else--only real alternative is "nothing."

I think that Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen, and Crowfall seem interesting on the surface, but both of these games have been in development for years, and who knows what they will look like when they are released. And, who knows when they ever will be released.
