Anyone else not like how almost every race can be every class now?

It just feels loads more special in WoW classic. Like your class and race feels way more unique and like it has more identity and it all feels more meaningful. Now it just feels like ‘‘Oh what hat should I wear today’’. Or like that meme ‘‘when everyone is special no-one is’’'.

I think it’s so much better in classic where gnome for example can only be four classes.

If they ever make a WoW 2 I hope they take it as an opportunity to go back on this, it’s ridiculous. Tauren rogue, orc priest ect, all so silly.

As someone who plays Paladin which has always been heavily restricted for Horde I do not care about any class race restrictions being lifted. I think it’s nicer not to have the restrictions so people are free to play the races they actually want to be combined with the class they want to be.

Having said that I’m never going to change from belf. This is what I started as.

I think Retail and Classic should go in two different directions.

All non heroic classes (DK being the obvious exception) should be already available to all races, especially now that allied races restrictions are “lifted”. Let people play what and how they want, lore is already thrown out the window.

Didn’t you have another character before the belf?

I don’t like that I can’t play Shaman or Druid because those races are not available for Blood Elves.

Tbf people in wow often have the misconception that Fel / Light / Void / etc are contradicting forces. There is no reason for orcs to not be priests. They also have the shadowmoon clan on draenor. Even fel orcs can easily be priests, because the Fel is not something that will burn in contact with the light as some people seem to assume. In the story of the game, the Fel is simply chaotic energy from the twisting nether that the burning legion uses for evil things, but fel itself is not evil. It’s just a cosmological force of nature basically. So if orcs are empowered by fel, that doesn’t make them unable to accept the light, just like lightforged draenei can control the fel.

Tauren rogues are very scary, you are right!

I am just waiting for them to let us play actual demons. I mean, why can’t I play a succubus?

It would be cool third spec for demonhunter, I call it “The demon unleashed”.

Also, every class should be able to use cloth/leather/mail/plate, like - come on. Not to mention, why should some classes have abilties I can’t have on my character? That is not fair or fun. So fix that too.

I will not be happy before anyone can be anything, everyone looks the same and everyone got the same two buttons.

I want all races to be all classes.

With cross-faction it’s less of a bother now, but before that it was horrible.

No, I think it’s a good thing, pretty much because any race, correctly trained, can become a specific class. Like, I can’t see any good reason why a human couldn’t be a shaman if he wanted to. I can see that only for DH maybe, but then again, if someone wanted to receive a DH training, why not. Same for druids yadda yadda

Indeed
A race is not a hive mind - but even a hive mind there are anomalies who are cut off, thrown out to not disturb the Harmony - and players and individuals (I dare say, they are even unique in some cases)
Every class - even the Demon Hunter - is not something you born but learn and train
The Demon Hunters are somewhat unique because Illidan only trained Night Elves first, then a few Blood Elves, but it is just that. Traning and a ritual, to summon, slay, and bound a Demon’s soul in to yourself, harnessing its power that slowly drives you mad and mutates you, makes you a half-demon, then a full Demon in time - it is the poor man’s Grimoire of Sacrifice, self-deception, you are not a Warlock (in a sense true, you are not, you were not even capable to master the basic levele subjugations and power theft…)
Whatever
The point is, even Demon Hunter is a class you have to learn to be born in to
I say, the most, you could born with affinity (except the Death Knight, but that is for everyone, Death is not that picky, anyone could be raised with sufficiently strong necromancy, even species normally immune to such thing)
Affinitiy to use Magic, affinity to Natrue or the Elements, or to be a good fighter, keen eyes to be a hunter, etc.
But there is nothing, especially in the lore, that would prevent you to become any class except, maybe the given race’s culture and traditions or prejudice when it comes to some classes.
But again, the palyers are individuals, maybe a million Kaldorei hates, with good reason Arcane and Fel, but there is always one who wants more, who want to learn, heard stories and looking around the ruins and burrows decided, okay maybe having an advanced empire covering most of the continent maybe, just maybe wasn’t that bad… and I will be different! Or after the Demons mass murdered her family and friends had enough and decided will make them pay, make them serve, use them and I will be different than the ones failed before me, because… it is ME! And become a warlock because always skipped leg day and she is weak in body, but strong in will

Nothing like a good old hubris or thirst for power to become something forbidden (and in a wartorn world that faces world ending threat in every 2-3 years, anyone or anthing with power probably and logically is welcomed and begrudgingly tolerated)
Priest, hunters, rouges, warriors, holly warriors of your dety? Every culture have them just sometimes called differently

Everyone lost if because of the Tauren rogues forgeting:
A, they were already in the game, just like the Draenei Rangaari not playable for some reason
B, be a scout, thief, a pirate or an assassin posion master, or embracing the art of shadowy practices is nothing special
C, moving around silently with hooves and large body is a thing even in nature, kind of part of the survival kit if you don’t want to be eaten
D, most of the rogues invisibility and silent movement and speed comes from magic…

Doesn’t really bother me tbh, if someone wants to be a Tauren rogue doesn’t really affect me.

My classes are the ones I’ve chosen for lore, aesthetics, funny name whatever. Someone else probably doesn’t like my dk being called deadgary but he was gary until he died obvs….

People play and enjoy things in different ways, opening classes satisifies those people who can only play a certain race, the min max ers who want that specific racial or people just there for the memes. I don’t think it destroys my game by someone picking a Tauren rogue or whatever

I just want better writing behind the lifts so the race and class fantasy aren’t much damaged by it. The Warlocks were just pure disaster. The most demon and fel hating races are allowed Warlocks just like that. I know that class is about being outcast and secrecy, I just don’t see reason why warlocks of these races (Draenei, LFD, Nelfs especially) wouldn’t be executed on sight. I’m afraid that without proper writing the races are humanified and therefore boring copies of each other, while some mediocre writing behind it could prevent it and allow the restriction lift without some headaches.

These lifts and ridiculous customisations (like the incoming Eredar) are also damaging for RPers. They are trying to live in the world with their characters, while the world is turning to circus. So, anyone who supports this, be aware that you are destroying someone else’s fun in this game while you already have yours even without that thing. However it’s also on Blizzard’s fault if they fail to deliver some better writing behind it, with that, both sides can be satisfied.

This sandboxification, especially without proper writing, makes the game boring in the long term and people don’t play boring games …usually.

My very first char was an Orc Warlock. I played her when I started during TBC and then into Wrath. I didn’t create the Pala until sometime during Wrath. Once that happened I never main changed again.

I was, and still am the world’s worst Warlock :dracthyr_hehe_animated:

For the Horde, only Blood Elves could be Paladins when I started. It was some time later that they introduced Tauren Paladins and then later again we got Zandalari. I do have at least one of each race that can be Paladin but they are just alts.
