you guys are actually unreal, im convinced you want this game to die and no one actually cares anymore, i care more about this game than the moderators who stealth my post combined and 99.9% of everyone leaving comments here, it’s so sad how your most loyal players can’t even talk without getting muted it’s actually unreal, shame on you.

Personally I would feel that if Blizzard opens a seasonal Classic server every year or two and gives players that participated in the Rat Race for AQ should be eligable to transfer the one to retail. I mean if the thing about earning it is the question and the argument is that it is not same like back then then the counterargument is using synergy with classic server. Because there everyone should have the same level as the people back then so there should not be a complaining about not really earned it.

Look, buddy. Let me put it this way… If I wouldn’t care about the game, I wouldn’t play it regularly. I just “don’t care as much as you do” because I did that in the past (with Destiny 1 and Destiny 2) and I was backstabbed by Bungie management as a player. I will never again let a game get me that emotional attached as Destiny did, because all it will bring me is disappointment.

WoW is for people like you no bit different. Whenever changes are made that you somewhat dislike, people like you push it as a “This will kill WoW” or “I am uninstalling the game” because some nostalgic illusion balloon of yours is struck with the needle.

Nothing lasts forever. One day, even WoW will be shut down and replaced with something else. That’s a fact.

You yourself said that I am “late to the party”. Question is, why are you still here? Also, why do you still care? The “party” has been long over. You said it. I also said that in my words.

Special FOMO items have been the “party highlight” 10 years ago. And now suddenly, when they get brought back 10 years later for earning/buying them, you complain? Kinda hypocritical imo. considering you were on the party and others weren’t. Now you and the other complainers are the party crashers for us. Just saying.

i never said i would uninstall the game you really have no clue what you are talking about, just making stuff up , why do i still care? because im not a quitter like u i dont give up on things in life thats the difference between us two, nah dont make excuses u never liked any game u mentioned, quitters never truly loved anything to begin with, as i said ive seen this a billion times this isn’t anything new to me and why do you talk about nostalgia you started in 2019 you should be the last person to ever say that word

Amazing, everything you just said is hot air.

Not wasting more time arguing with someone that stuck in their ways, unable to read and actually comprehend what was said…

Completely agree with these thoughts. Another option I’d like to see for this and other old rewards (Glad mounts, vicious saddles, mythic + rewards) is to slap them all on a vendor. Instead of being auto-granted whatever thing you get from the FoS, you get [special item] each season which can be exchanged so people can get something else if they’re not too keen on whatever is on offer. For me, the poor excuse for an armoredon for s3 could now be that Mindborer that I almost got but waited too long to get.

I started playing in Legion and have gotten every AOTC mount since Antorus.

I have no issues with all of those returning to Trading Post for 8 months worth of grinding for a single mount, when it took me less than a month raiding to get it.

Some of the models are unique and should be made available, and I don’t like people gatekeeping content because “I happened to play at the right time”. The only reason I don’t have Grove Warden, is I didn’t play at the time, nothing to do with skill. There is no prestige involved with AOTC, it means you either 1) raided at the time or 2) had ~100k gold at the end of the patch.

You don’t give up! You learn and try harder. I was 100% only pve guy for many years (vanilla–>mop, super casual wod+legion), and in bfa s1 pvp set was something that i had to get. I don’t remember how many random players i had in both 2v2 and 3v3. I don’t remember how many times i got yelled when i messed up something. Eventually got what i what i was after. If you really want to optain something, try harder and don’t give up.

They should add it back for goldcap.

It is kind of funny to think that AotC mounts became more rare than CE mounts because they were removed from the game when the next tier hit.

And usually I do (considering all my PvP achievements in Destiny 2)… It’s just… The rewards of WoW are just not the suffering worth. I can either decide to spend around a month having no fun, trying and grinding for some PvP stuff I perhaps will never really be happy with (last set I wanted had clipping issues on Draenei, so I didn’t even bother playing for it) OR I can spend that entire month doing something I actually enjoy.

The choice is not hard. I pick fun over some FOMO items that won’t make people respect me more and me completely happy either.

You don’t get the FOMO item to have others respect you, you get the FOMO item because it is something you want before it is gone. It brings the one who got it some happiness.

FOMO is just a tool to engage people to do content they normally would not participate within.

I do understand that many feel that FOMO is about themselves. They see FOMO items as affecting themselves more important than how it affected another. Basically to boil it down: I didn’t/couldn’t do A, but I want the reward. Me not getting the reward is not fun for me, fun is important, so me getting the reward is important and fun.

Ignoring the fact that getting the FOMO item was fun for the other person, because it was FOMO. That is taken away.

To use your example, Olympian medals, not anyone can/could get them - for any reason. But the winners for sure deserved them. What you want, is that those medals to be molded to perfect replicas, and then given to everyone else. Making the medal as a symbol completely pointless and worthless.

Sure, many are happier, because now they got the medal. But how do you think the Olympian feels about it? Will that medal ever be the same, even if it is still in the trophy closet and by the pictures showing the win.

I would say you just took something of emotional worth from someone else forever, for no other reason than your own gain. Your ego and wants trumps the ego and wants of the other. You not seeing that is lack of empathy, simple as.

This is the culture crash happening. One side want to protect the value of others, the other just don’t see it as valuable (or does, but just wants) and don’t care about what was.

We know the ‘want’ side won. Please, just let us old guards at least do our soapbox grandstand. Even if what we valued are seen as pointless. As we are pointless. Nothing matters, but at least let us pretend till we are in the dirt. That is the most humane thing to do, let people be as happy they can be, in a world where nothing matter. Don’t work to take it away. Please.

And for this Orc here can the heirlooms stay in the past but the wolf is to precious to just be left there.

Counterargument. If you say people they are screwed because this beautiful mount they would like to have is unoptainable anymore as they did not started already as babies or had their fathers create for them an account beforehand you will lose out on new players when the old ones gradually die away.

I started back in TBC and even I think this FOMO is just some Bollocks that should be get rid sooner then later. One of the few things I have to respect Cata for is that it did not introduce any time limited content except new Gladi mounts and the usual Pre-Patch participation thing. I do not have many things because back then as I student I started loving WoW for the Lore and the RP you can do there. That there where time limited things that years later I would like to get but can not I whas blissfully unaware of. It whas MoP where I got really to realize with what screwed up practices are in the game and since then there broke something in me.
The fact that we have this discussion is not only because you got some cool or unique mounts that no (suiable) recolour before. It is the fact players get punished because they are no time travelers or oracles knewing they would like or dislike something in the future.

Not really suitable example. Olympian Medals are more of the fact that where whas a championship and there are so and so few places out there. The closes which would come to this are gladiator mounts and the Hall of Fame Titles or the Server First Title in WotLK. But I say closest because the fact that there is an olympic medal is more important then the design itself.
Meanwhile in WoW many of those things are less an achievment that you won a competion and more that you where just at the right time at the right place because Blizzard can not keep original difficulty with how much it changes each add-on.
I believe if Blizzard would have from start on implemented the Classic Server concept that each Add-on would basically be on it’s own server and you decide when you want to create a copy for the new Add-on then we would not have this discussion. Because then people could just say:“Well you want Amani War Bear/Hand of A’dal/Kor’kron War Wolf/etc. then just play this Add-on version” and there would be no envy debate as it is clear that things are tied to challenge instead and so those that want it can earn it.
But currently we have the discussion as some people do not care that what they have is an awesome design but only that it makes other people envy and/or sad that they will never have a chance to get it.
And this is why I personally want FOMO to go away and let those people cry as I find it toxic to support a system that makes people derive joy from others people missfortune.

I’d have agree the wolf was more of a participation trophy than the equivalent of a winner’s medal.

That’s the funny thing to me. Some people are super mad about this, meanwhile the mythic mounts (you know the ones that actually have some prestige tied to them) are never removed and always obtainable. Same as mythic sets, you can even get the full mythic look while the season is current without every stepping foot in mythic raid.

ZA bear was FOMO

100% drop rate on mount 25man heroic firelands.

The curve mounts were being offered for free on these forums back then in MoP and really only just a pixel.
If you want something to be prestigious become a doctor , fire person etc etc somebody that helps in life.

Which, surprise, is happening in a lot of sport events. They are called “participation medals”. They get a different color/metal and look exactly the same.

The majority is what counts, not the minorities. That’s what democratic societies are about. If the majority is happier that way and wants it that way (for the record, I am not saying we do say that as majority), then that is what is more important.
