AotC Mounts on Trading Post

With all due respect, the FOMO you’re talking about is just a fraction of what FOMO actually means. Missing out on content & having to make choices that may render that content unobtainable for months if not years is a form of FOMO. Albeit a lighter one.

I still stand by my point and I think ingame content that was obtained through a challenge of any kind should only return through a challenge that’s similar to the original. They could do a Timewalking Siege raid that’s of a similar difficulty and I would be entirely fine with it - but the trading post is just not it.

Tbh I agree with you, but my personal investment in the game has completely dropped I barely log in once a week anymore and I dont think I’ll be proceeding with subscribing once my 6 month sub falls off, but it makes me glad to see Blizz is kinda moving in the right direction.

I find the conversation in this post so disconnected from reality at some points.

Guys, you are complaining about stuff that was exclusive 10 years ago for stuff you did 10 years ago.

10 years are a damn long time to have “prestige” from such items. Being mad at very old items becoming available again through one way or another is very childish.

“Oh, I had to do the raid 10 years ago before WoD comes out to get it! Others shouldn’t be able to buy it from the trading post / should have to run a hard timewalk version of the raid / should have to do XY to get it, so the effort I put in 10 years ago, that definitely didn’t got rewarded already with 10 years of exclusivity, is on the same level of difficulty”.

And people should always remember, none of us own any darn pixel in this game. We merely have a license to use it (legally).

Normal in MOP is the same difficulty as Heroic now. Please just stop, it’s embarrassing.

I think it works both ways, because people seem to get mad about precious pixels they can’t get anymore and missed out on. The fact they actually want it enough to complain about it not being available online, sort of undermines their own argument that its just pixels that no one should care about. Surely?

Exactly, if it’s just pixels, why do you want it so bad?

i dont want thet mount give players at time who beat curve boss on hc now coming back feel like slap face

But it doesnt does it? Calling it a slap across the face is a whinge and a pathetic one at that.

talking about how to obtain Curve and mount in MoP nothing to do with now please stop its embarrasing there was 3 ways to obtain it, like i have pointed out to disprove the OP which you are not and have nothing to do with so please stop interfering ty. Adding to ignore as well as its trolling now by you and OP.

And people bought Boost for stuff easy (or free) to get now / bought boost for equipment which becomes obsolete next patch / I’ve seen people spend millions in raid mount still obtenable / TCG cost 10’s of millions and they gave it for free (read no gold price) with twitch or game prime…

I am in your category of people who paid a lot of gold for items. I bought :

  • TCG mount (bear / one drake / the horse / blue rocket / maybe another one, can’t remember)
  • All TCG pets
  • ZG Raptor at the BMAH
  • All the MoP WB at the BMAH
  • Recruit a friend to myself to get the mounts & pets (combinaison of gold / €)

Then, they gave the TCG mount for free (read no gold cost) / TCG pets were dupe into oblivion and are even given now for free / MoP WB were nerfed / RaF given at the Trading post. We can see, they don’t really care, and they shouldn’t care

You can’t limit access to items ig just because some people (a minority) bought the items for a high price. Especially if the price is high by design (ZG mount could be up 2 times a week at the BMAH instead of 2 times a year, the price wouldn’t be the same).

I don’t want to be harsh to you because I feel you can’t help it.

The difficulty of normal during mop was the same level of difficulty as a heroic now. So when people are saying, oh it was an easier aotc because you could get it on normal, that isn’t entirely true as they just reworded the raid names. It was the same level as difficulty as a heroic now, just called normal.

I think that depends on how the game presents that “prestige”.

Personally, I couldn’t give a thousand damns about those mounts. I see mounts on players only while they travel or stay in cities/zones. I don’t see them during combat.

HOWEVER, when it comes to Armor sets, I understand the wish to bring them back as earnable/buyable items. Why? Because players ACTIVELY see them on other players when worn, all the time (unlike mounts).

On mounts it is a “neat, special collectible”. But for Transmogs it is a big “F you, I have something you don’t have/can’t get anymore” every time you see them.

For instance (and to be fair, I have only seen a single player yet in my lifetime in WoW running around with it in my instances), the Legion Paladin T21 PvP Top 500 set I still want, but can’t get (both because I suck at PvP and because I never played during Legion).

Armor link: https://www.wowhead.com/dressing-room#fx8zz0zJ89c8mP8YV8mO8X48mQ8VLY8mS8YI8mU8Yj8rv8MSe8Ts8VpV8Tb808zYS8dpn8Mty808mX8YE8TR8Vpc8Ta8Vpq8Tq8Vpf8Td8VpG8Tr8VpN8oY8Yt8Tf8Vpt8Tw8Vp5877mOIC808OIJ808Ouv808OIg87kOIl808OIO808OIF808OIv87q

I wish I could get that armor still, because I like orange emissions and dark colors. Yet here I am, have to settle with the Mythic one (which doesn’t look bad either, especially with a fitting weapon). But I hope you get the point.

I personally can just identify myself with the black/orange version instead of the golden/blue one. And it still drives me mad that WoW doesn’t allow you to color armor pieces.

Like god damn! Every RPG game today has it, just not WoW.

Exactly. And that’s why we love FOMO rewards.

I thought so for some time of my life too. I earned myself consistently every seasonal transmog in Destiny 2. And every time when I was playing with a friend who was mostly on-off with the game, I always had to hear following exchange:

Him: “Nice armor/gun you have, where did you get that?”

Me: “That’s [XY] Seasons item. You can’t get it anymore/not at the moment”

Him: “Wow… You know, suddenly I don’t want to play this game anymore. That’s [insert your prefered swear words]”

Me: thinks he might never play the game ever again due to such FOMO systems

Plot twist, both of us don’t play the game anymore. For MULTIPLE reasons which include FOMO and greed from companies.

Scarab lord is something unique, but it was more be in the right place at the right time. My very old guild had one of the original ones (i joined them later at tbc) but also i know someone we used to play together at tbc that got a fake one from area 52 server transfer.

Kinda unrelated to the main topic but most people remember mage tower after antorus with fully geared characters. That thing was hard with my nighthold gear at relase

First they came for their…

TCM mounts

I did not care, because I did not have them. But they cost only money, so who cares right?

TL mounts

I shrugged, because I did not have the time or was around. But they cost only time and opportunity, so who cares right?

LE mounts

I snorted, because I did not have those editions. Who cares?

FS mounts

I wondered, now those I had some of. Feats of Strength is basically just TL, right? Yeah, I guess. That is only logical.

will they come for gladiator mounts next?

The time for when this happens is so close, so very close. Of course, at the time it happens, we all will simply shrug. Why because all the mounts are already available, it is only following the same logic.

In World of Warcraft nothing earned, gotten or achieved matters, this is true on a fundamental level. WoW is a videogame. So it is only just that Blizzard makes it perfectly clear to us. So let us just put every mount on the WoW store already, same with all the mogs and pets. Anything and everything.

The playermass simply doesn’t see value in the old norms of anything being limited or not achievable. The goal is to make sure nothing is special, so they can’t feel denied. If nothing is kept as special, well then everyone is “special”…

Let this slow decline hit rock bottom already.

Tbh i mostly dont care about this but i see the point you making. I bought couple of tcg , i got mad when the ones i bought went for twitch drop but at this point i really dont care.
There will be a point where they run out of stuff to giveaway and what will be the next ? I’m pretty sure if they gave away a different color feldrake or different color tyrael charger or something everyone would be happy but they choose this path.
Tbh its an mmorpg and prestige items matter and it always will matter as long as game is alive.
No matter how easy or hard was it giving away an achievement reward like that doesn’t feel right . I’m all up for proper scaled rerelease raid reward but not this.
Btw this account doesn’t have the garrosh mount and i’m still writing this. Bagden i wasn’t rich enough to own my personal wow acc.

Mounts/Pets that required real money one way or another (even if you repurchase it for gold someone paid money for them)

Mounts that have been available in the game before and after they were added to the BMAH. (Droprate buff still kept them very rare sitting as 1% weekly lockout drops)

Mounts that despite being available indirectly through gold still requires you to convert gold to real currency.

A removed mount said to never return outside of the BMAH that was only ever available through ingame means.

Surely you too can see the difference here, I’m all for reintroducing mounts that were never obtainable through ingame means - and hell I don’t even mind reintroducing mounts that were, but the trading post should not be the place for the latter- they did such a good job reintroducing the mage tower, there’s no reason they couldn’t do something like that for these other desired items.

Even if they put it in some relatively hard achievement to achieve like e.g. putting it on the 600-700-800 mounts achievements, would be totally fine.

I like the concept of the trading post, just not for this. For a lot of people the moment a mount goes on the trading post it becomes too “common” and people stop using it - it kills the prestige and nobody cares about it anymore, because realistically these rare mounts are just a +1 in the collection to many. It’s just not worth it.

I don’t have any mixed feelings at all. I think the point of the trade post is to bring back old and new stuff for players to enjoy and i don’t think anything should be off the table, except current expansion achievements.
