<APES> Should be banned/rolled-back for Bug Abuse?

Source on Blizzard acknowledging this during Beta?

Devs have a schedule, they fix most of bugs. But if they can’t they postpone it after the release. Now if someone use this bugs to obtain unfair advantages it’s called and Exploit and it’s against the TOS.

It’s not the fault of Blizzard, but fault of streamers who were totally irresponsible to show it in public and kids too stupid to listen them.

End of discussion.

All the streamers that leveled during beta from 30 to 40 with the same comps? Doing literally the same SM grinds?

Honestly you should be perma banned from all blizzard titles for even proposing this. It is not apes fault that blizzard shipped the game with that bug in place. No one should ever be banned for any form of “bug abusing”. It’s on the devs to fix these bugs, not on the players to avoid them.

All the streamers…

What are words?

Lol. You know that critical bugs are always a priority and are fixed asap ?

So if tomorrow a streamer advertise accidentally a gold seller and tons of followers bought golds, they shouldn’t be any consequence because they are too many?

Exploiting is justified because bugs shouldn’t be in production: The Thread.

Some of you guys really make me laugh

Using a bug to gain unfair advantages it’s an Exploit and it’s against the TOS.

Can i say “you are dumb” to someone without risking ban?

sorry man i dont mean any offence but i stopped reading when you started comparing raiding ZF to the slave trade.

You mean 1 percent of playerbase?

It is not justified because they shouldn’t be in, it is justified because it is not the players fault that they are in. You get the game the way it is (in the current patch anyway) and as long as you don’t alter your game files/memory everything goes. It is not the players responsibility to go “oh I wonder if we should be getting so many xp” or “I wonder if it is intended for me to do this”. Any bug that slips by QA and makes it to live is fair game until it is fixed.

Are you talking from the standpoint of the rules, or morally?

If you go out of your way (not doing normal gameplay) to exploit the bug, you are breaking the rules. I can’t speak for APES because I don’t know what they did, but for the general person who did SM Cath and Stockades as a 10 man raid group, I’d be really intrigued to see how you can justify that being normal gameplay.

Model editing/memory manipulation are not gameplay exploits, they are modding.

With this logic, the censure bug, ICC Lich King bomb exploit, every single gameplay exploit is not the fault of the players who exploited it.

Dude, get over it. There’s a guild that’s better at classic than everyone else.
Guess what? In every “classic” edition of the game they release, be it if they go and release TBC or WoTLK or anything, the private server guilds will be at the top.
They didn’t abuse anything, tons of people did this and figured it was just normal.
If Blizzard were to ban anyone for this it’d be unfair beecause they cannot hope to catch everyone who did this and they cannot expect everyone to have known it was a bug in the first place.

Now abusing a bug not being fixed and rush a game while forgetin all the rest of the content it offers is being called better?

lol

Rushers are rusher, nothin more, nothin less. Problem is, they abused a bug. Nothing more, nothing less.
fact 1, words later.

Server’s health first, rushers later.

Well Ensidia shouldnt have been banned for the Saronite bomb thing, pretty sure thats why its still remembered

Reading around, this was doable in Vanilla. Players were able enter certain dungeons as a 10 man group (that in itself is a bug).

Based on that, it seems blizzard brought it back in being able to enter dungeon as a group higher than the allowed amount (Bug 1), but being 15 years ago they didn’t know what the penalty rates were meant to be, so placed in whatever they thought was correct, only realizing now they might have gotten it wrong (introducing bug 2) and changed it .

That to me is a bug they re-introduced, but they bugged even further. So it can be understandable if players thought it was fine because Bug 1 did exist in Vanllia, but bug 2 was an uncertainty.

So I would say you’re right in a way

They didnt abuse an exploit though, doing a dungeon as a 10 man is 100% intended and part of the game
