The answer is no, fairly sure people weren’t aware the XP gained was a bug and simply used the most efficient way to level.
I don’t think a temp ban achieves anything either now you can’t physically do said thing.

The title of the thread is wrong. It should not be APES but everyone who abused the bug. They should be temp banned and their characters rolled back. Blizzard did this before even if a lot of players were affected and people did not know it was a bug. If they do it again, it would be a statement that they care for Classic.

I play on Gehannas and I have kept track of them, throughout their leveling process.
They don’t really care what some random’s have to say, no one does. If you have a party that gives 100xp per mob with 5 people in it and 98xp per mob with 10 people in it and you are going for world first it’s pretty obvious the route they would go.
You think they planned WF for a year only to dodge a scenario like that? pathetic lol.
Well they still abused the raid group XP bug regardless, and their VOD is the proof.
Point proven. Point being that they’d obviously would go down the exploit route to reach world first.

Too late. Blizz should have kept and eye on the fastest levelers and see what they were doing. This should have been hotfixed as it started happening, not after every “hardcore” has done it.

This doesn’t have anything to do with retail. Although Blizzard did ban players on retail for exploiting XP potion stacks.

Please show me where in the TOS it says grinding ZF as a raid for good xp is bannable. I think youll find all dungeons before BRD can be raided.

There’s literally not a single piece of evidence for this claim other than bunch of morons perpetuating this myth on the forums for the past months.
Post some actual proof. This hate train against some top guilds is a product of jealous neckbeards with too much time and too little skill to actually accomplish something.
I played on the same server as these guys. They absolutely had no impact on the server unless you were part of the top guilds on the opposing faction. And dont even bother with bringing up Devilsaur Mafia. Cross faction collaboration on Devilsaurs were accepted by the server admins as a gameplay element that attracted world PvP, and thus allowed.
If its not against the rules to collaborate to make hundreds of gold per day per player involved, you cant blame the guild for doing just that.

Except that it is not an abuse, because nobody knew if the bug was actually one or not. People keep repeating, that private servers do not represent classic WoW, so how should anyone know if the raid exp was a bug or not?
