Apparently 70,000 gold is equal 10 achievement points

Just saw this topic on the US forums

Guess we know what kind of goldsinks we get in the future.

Well you paid to get title in TBC with shattered sun offensive . you could spend 90k to get curve right now there has and always will be goldsinks and much needed ones and tbh this is rather cheap.

Seems like an achievement I’ll never get.
Unless an achievement rewards something interesting, they’re of zero interest to me.

I remember that, it was 1,000 gold, it’s probably still there (haven’t looked for a long time). I never bought it as that was a lot of money back then, now it’s the reward from a WQ.
I still don’t have the Yak mount and it’s 120,000g which I still think is quite a lot of gold, especially for a mount I’ll never actual use.

Should have a title achievement : Money buys love!

I got it a few years back, so it’s probably still there. Don’t remember if it’s exactly 1K gold, but probably. It was certainly pricier than me being able to get it during TBC at least, though I did do the required rep at the time.

I remember the days when 5k for flying was insane moneys lol

people who talk about 50k+ being nothing are either botters gold buyers or nolifers :>

That’s a rather expensive Thank You card.

Personally I hope whoever designed this is sitting back laughing and laughing at the hand grenade he threw into the community.

I know I would be.

Hey 70k is cheap compared to others XD

At least they would add a mount or a full set tmog and then it wouldn’t be so hysterical.
But such cheeky/disgusting goldsink…
Even the 100th recolored scarab mount was disgusting for 1.2m gold and the other trash cosmetic items for hundreds of thousands…
I think it wouldn’t hurt to fire a few more people.

Blizz def needs give out a better reward if they expect people to do this.
10 achievement points, what an insult.
5 achievement points or no deal.

Of all my mounts, the yak is probably the one I use most. I bought it during pre-patch (to replace the mammoth) because I couldn’t handle another levelling grind of running round in whatever gear I looted and only being able to mog if I went back to the main hub. Shallow, I know, but ‘looking good’ while levelling is the only thing that makes it almost bearable.

I got the transmog toy which lets me refresh my look although it’s on a cooldown. I’m not that fussed. Also I tend to use heirlooms while leveling although I’ve not updated them since Legion so they only go to 44 or something.

I’m still not over the fact I paid for this on top of the rep grind when I never use it :woman_facepalming:

Could pay homage to The Beatles with an achievement- 'Can’t Buy Me Love ’

50k just accumulates if you do a bunch of random content. I could go fly in waking shores for 10 minutes to make 8k ish gold from tuskarr tackle boxes along the river there.

The world quest in ohn aran plains at the arena when it has gold as a reward will net you 1810 gold if you do it in warmode. thats 1810 for killing 1 elite that any level 70 in dungeon gear can solo easily.

Dragonflying world quests reward a bag that contains roughly 520g for 1 minute of flying around. So just doing some random content (granted it might not be the content you like to do) will reward you with 50k very easily and rather fast.

People that say 50k is “nothing” dont usually literally mean nothing but it’s not an insane amount of gold.

i really dont understand. its such a small amount of gold. its weirdly time gated.

is there more to this than just tiny bit of gold? seems to small. for a gold sink

I don’t get it either. If in some way they could translate it to an actual money donation to a good charity (blizzard buying tokens…? I dunno! Lol) I’d think it quite neat and would happily contribute.

But just for an achievement? Um what? I’m confused!
