Arathi Basin Premades

just go for a Solid farm hold + another early cap. aim for 320resources (2 ticks of rep).
Then ghost it out… earns u around 50rep for 6-10mins… haha i know it sucks to be horde since u have que times… but thats the best farming while loosing vs premade advice i can give  GL

Go and play AV it’s only for pugs.

I always looked at high ranked players with a bit of admiration, but now that I know how people got there? They can shove their worthless pre-made titles up their rear ends.

He actually thinks a Shaman can cast a spell in battlegrounds

Ohh my :’)

The logic is self-evident.

What matters is your agenda.

People pissed off with premades clearly state theirs:
actually play BGs instead of sitting in ghost form, especially since for most of us, time available for gaming is unfortunately much shorter than back in Vanilla.

Now let’s express clearly what is your agenda? What do you want out of the game? If getting stomped is not your problem, then what is it?

I mean we have all been in BGs where we stomp the other team and in others where we get erased. Nobody likes this.

Having a “normal” experience most of the time, where neither side just trashes the other is simply more enjoyable for both parties involved. It is just not good game design if most games end up being a stomp fest.

And btw, can we all agree how using consumables in BGs is just lame? And retail is even flooding your bag space with those as your only BG rewards lol. Soooo lame.

Back to your agenda, I can see you guys just don’t want the game to become a (retail) mess. And yeah I think solving this issue in Vanilla would be hard without making too many changes and imoacts.

The issue here is that not even retail has something to offer BG wise that is casual with time and ranks on skill. But at least they respect the normal curve and you rarely trash or get trashed for a whole 30min, and you don’t get honor farmed. But there is no reward and no skill matching.
ATM my only pleasure reward progress wise is just increasing my total kill number. That’s nice, I suppose in a way these type of stats are the only ones that stay relevant throughout expansions haha.

Classic is a recreation of the game how it was, warts and all. This is a wart.

Well, as in the post you replied to, my agenda is making it a more socially wholesome experience instead of tearing that part down like retail did.
The anonymity and lack of proper repercussions for bad behavior or unwillingness to cooperate is a big part of what makes it worse.

For example, let’s say on average you’ve got a certain amount of people reaching out to communicate with others and develop teamwork, but there’d also be those unwilling to reciprocate, on average in almost every BG.
But because you pretty much never remember the people you get matched up with, the people trying to get some communication going keeps throwing out those attempts randomly, without any real direction, and each time they come across people who doesn’t answer, this wears them down. It makes them jaded, which discourages even trying it after this process has been repeated enough times.

An example of this is when you’re playing in AB, you’re calling inc, maybe even how many, but nobody comes to help. Or let’s say you ask if there’s any base with enemies incoming, but nobody answers and you check the map with people supposedly “defending” each base your team controls, but soon after the enemies caps a flag where you had no vision over, and there was supposed to have been someone there, but they never said anything.

It’s even possible for a base to be capped with a person standing there, and still being alive just afking similar to how it goes in AV, and the enemies cap the flag with nobody getting in their way.

Repeating this process over and over, even if you get some people who reciprocates, if not enough people does it to manage to win, then this creates a lasting impression that “it’s just not worth saying anything anyway”.

While if it would be limited to the same realm, it would be easier to remember the ones behaving so badly. It’d be easier to remember the ones raging.
It’d have lasting effects on a person’s ability to join guilds and/or pugs, which in turn serves as a natural discouraging effect which makes people behave better in the end. It protects that social awareness.

It’d be even better if the enemies were limited to the same realm as well so you could develop some “favorite kill targets”, like specific enemy players you know that tends to be especially annoying to you, so you feel joy similar to gloating when you know you “beat them”. Or people with “fancy gear” or a “fancy title”, that you recognize, so you go out of your way to make it a “minigame” by trying to chase them down and send them to the graveyard over and over again.

These small, subconscious effects, are examples of how it improves the immersion and helps people work better together. Because they recognize each other. This builds up trust between people you already know you can count on, and that helps your own gameplay improve as well.

So at least turning off the options to queue as anything less than a full premade helps the social part improve.

But there are other benefits to doing so. It’s that with having so many asocial solo players who doesn’t know their left from their right “just playing for fun” without trying to win, this makes rank progression possible to very high ranks even by the worst premades, because they compete with others on the same server’s faction to end up in higher brackets in order to progress, and the higher the rank the higher the bracket required to do so.

And there have been people wishing for ranks to represent more skill than it does now. So to limit the queuing options to only full premades, it makes it so the bad premades ends up naturally lower than the good premades, because if all you can face are premades and you can only queue as a premade, then the good premades will naturally end up winning more on average than the bad premades.

This puts a natural soft limit to what bad players can accomplish, thus making the higher ranks carry more meaning.

Unfortunately it’s not an absolute effect, it’s still possible to make up for the lower win average by playing more each day, but it’d be a slight improvement in that regard compared to now at least.

There, that’s my “agenda”.

Lately it’s been around 3-4 games non peak and probably about 5-6 at peak times. You’re looking at 3-8 min queues normally. Only downside is if you actually wanted to use it for ranking it’s not really very efficient due to each game taking in some cases up to 40 mins. But overall the games are generally pretty fun and balanced 75% of the time.

At this stage I don’t really see a problem with separating the queues. I mean there seems to be some premade v premade etiquette already in place where first flag wins etc. Why not let the solo players queue separately. Most games will prob last 20-30 mins and they will never be able to encroach on the upper brackets anyway.

I hate when they do that. Last night, 4 games against premade. We win the BS fight, they surrender and retreat.
It was convenient for our premade. But not fun at all for me. I am PvPing for fun (competition) not for honor. Honor should be just a reward.

why should i play retail if i dont like how the state of the game is right now? if i wanna solo queue why should i make a premade? i enjoy having a challenge of facing multiple players in bg but premades gives u no chance to do that because they are way to organized and well geared.
Right now i just queueing bg to get rep after im done with that just gona wait for TBC where skill actually matters and u can see the diference of good and bad players just looking at their gear. (besides boosters)

Or stop queing which 60% of pugers will do in next 3 weeks
)

If you solo queue and end up in a pug against a premade (like you will do a lot of the times in AB right now) you will lose 99 times out of 100.

Obviously it has nothing to do with the players in the other team actually being better at PvP but everything to do with you meeting a balanced team with a tactic to go with it while you have to manage with what the queueing system gives you.

Personally I really enjoy those really even AB fights where every move matters but for people not playing for the fun of it but for the ranks a premade is of course better because its faster and easier.

Would be Nice if while pugging, you would get a balanced team… like minimum 4h or something… i Guess knowing that… many of those with some ambition would probably consider hitting pugs. And the overall skill would go up for pugs.

Guess it would also reward those who heal with faster pops…

Yea, I agree.

The queueing system should in some way at least balance the signups.

Yes, it would probably add to the queue-times… but a group with 0 or low heals, as happens quite often now, will have a hard time winning against anyone.

why shouldnt it be possible to forbid premades in arathi basin? they did it in AV as well… there wasnt it a problem to forbid it

Haha, exactly what i thought of that comment… “player engagement”… run over the other team in 5 min (if its a pug) with a perfectly team requiring no skill or effort whatosoever, yea, thats real engagement  joined a premade some days ago, wasn’t even fun… went back to casual pugging to at least have some entertaining ABs.
