Are boomies actually going to be nerfed in PvP?

Damage needs to come down across the board, especially:

Starfall needs to not pushback spells, needs to hit way less vs players

Dot damage needs toning down

The spec is almost entirely brainless AFK rot cleave damage, and feels like someone just took a retail design spec and stuck it in classic

Or are SoD developers acting like retail developers now and just ignoring anything that is clearly broken

It’s like developers design specs without considering what the spec is like for other players to encounter

Boomies got prob the biggest pvp nerf of any class like 2 months ago.

All they have now is the high dmg. And as long as you focus the boomies and not the Bear tank, you should be fine to nuke them down.

Also the Boomie dots do nothing in BGs. All Boomie dmg comes from hardcast spells. And a part of it from Starfall, but as long as you are in a 5-6+ then the dmg has a massive drop off due to limited stars.

The same 3 classes have been dominating PVP since phase 2. Boomkins, Ele shamans and hunters.

Classic PVP being a massive burst-fest just favours ranged classes that aren’t reliant on dots, nothing they can really do without reworking the entire game.

It isn’t really defensible

You can admit it’s an OP class and you enjoy stomping people on it easily, but it’s undeniably overtuned

Yes I’d throw hunters and shamans in with it too - high front loaded damage, easy spread on dot damage. It’s like retail level quality of life dot spreading but in classic

And yet their starfall crits 800 per hit on a single target, its abit too much tbh

And the dots tick for 400… each. Its alot of dmg

I have lock dots ticking on me for 200, mage for like 120-200

I had full bis boomy gear for pvp. Iv never seen a hit over like 400. So idk what you mean.

Again, the more people it hits the faster the dmg stops. Im not saying its weak, im saying what you really need to watch out for is the Boomies with 4p2.5, because those will 1 shot you with Starfire.

Open world yes. BGs, no. If the Boomie is dotting you in BGs you should thank him for playing wrong.

Again, Boomie 100% is not weak. There is a ton of dmg and an okish survivability. But I dont think its op, just strong. It was op before the nerfs.

I dont think any more nerfs will happen, because they really heavy handedly nerfed Boomie dmg and survivability in 1 go.

Not really. The spec is a glass cannon.

In reality the Mage buff was so massive that Mages are now also globaling people and doing 2k Lances.

Shockadins are melting people too.

Is anyone complaining ? Nahh. Because all that people see is the visual noise of Starfall.

With the range boomie has you can kill ppl before they get to you.

Mages have 30 yards and need RNG procs to global ppl.

Not comparable, boomies are busted and need a serious dmg nerf.

Again, still need to hard cast to do srs dmg.

Running and spamming dots + surge is not going to kill anyone. If you manage to stick on him, even if the chicken is not dying it does not matter, most of his dmg is not happening.

Boomies already got a 20% flat dmg nerf in pvp.

Paladin is very strong.

It is but ranged damage is the main issue atm.

It does though. Add a starfall that prevents any hard cast and you can deal serious damage whilst waltzing around. Starfire 4k+ crit on a 1sec cast is just cherry on top.

Same with Shamelem and their flameshock damage. They can just spam it on cd and run around using totem/riptide whilst waiting for a LB proc and still do more than decent damage.

Those two classes have tank level armor and can stack a good deal of stamina. They can tank a melee class without moving and still come out on top.

Hunter is also dealing too much magical damage that can’t be mitigated by armor. They have much less survivability once cornered but they still front too much damage.

You’re really trying to deflect here. Mages have very little range (30y) and need a proc/frost to deal those damage. They don’t hold a second against a boomy or a hunt, let alone an elem. Even though Ice Lance damage is now overtuned, mages are not the ones breaking PvP atm.
Shockadins are good too but their range is also short and they only have 2 offensive spells to spam and no dot.

There may be some tunning to do for those classes but not before boomy/hunter/elem are addressed.

Lets be fair, the only ones whining about them are shamans who play the anoying ele with wote rune. Shockadin only class they struggle with atm

starfall should do less damage and not pushback spells

starsurge should do less damage

starfire is fine imo, it’s a hardcast, not sure on range, but it shouldn’t be above 30 yards if it is

kill shot as a proc really needs looking at

A lot of abilities that are over 30 or 35 yards range prob need that looking at

Tbh if you want to nerf boomies more,u have to nerf hunters as well, running 40 yard range and doing 2500 instants before u even get on range with them, as a druid u have to cast at least, while hunters just pew pew.
