Are Botting & RMT really impossible to fight?

Well, in the case of botting:

  • Make gathering nodes spawn only in Warmode.
  • Make gathering mats carried by players drop as loot when they die.

Then

  1. Create groups for hunting bots.
  2. Loot their mats.
  3. Sell them on AH.

Botting is gone.

i usually agree with all your posts but this is very strange, a lot of players do not like or want to do pvp :frowning:

Please don’t view playing a game as an ”Accomplishment”

It’s not meant to be that serious of a post.

Lots of people (the vast majority) don’t want to do open world PvP.
Lots of people also don’t want to lose their loot when they die (which would happen a lot).

As much as I don’t like Albion Online, this is something I found pretty good about it.

  • Low tier mats were dirt cheap because they were farmed by bots in safe zones
  • High-ish tier mats were extremely expensive because they were gathered by players in PvP zones where player corpses could be looted.

But this would never work in WoW, players wouldn’t allow it.

It’s tricky. They can’t ban everyone that’s reported or the report system would be abused by resource farmers getting rid of competition.
They can’t ban everyone who farms a lot of ore or herbs are anyone trying to level up their profs would be banned.

That’s not to say they can’t do anything.
Personally I’d increase the amount of Ore and Herbs out in the world vastly. I’d have nodes everywhere with 30 min respawn times and they wouldn’t despawn for others. So you could spend all day farming ore if you wanted. Of course this ore wouldn’t be worth a great deal as there be so much of it. But it would make it so it’s not really worth botting anymore.

Gathering shouldn’t really be a gold making thing anyhow. It should be an immersive way to get the materials for Crafting.
Crafting profs should be a way to make some gold, how much is arguable.
