Are Horde the bad guys?

After looking up the story for the last few expansion and books, I can’t stop wondering. Are Horde the bad guys? I thought the story was more neutral, but based off the story it doesn’t really seem that way.

So, I really want to know this, because I don’t want to continue playing a Faction, if I know we’re the bad guys who will eventually lose. Then I might as well join the Winning Side / Good Guys from the start.

Nah the Alliance isnt as golden as some people think it is. Both sides have done some pretty awful things, Horde just seems to get a bigger spotlight.

Can you give some Examples? Cause all I remember seeing in the game, was their King Sacrificing himself, while the Horde Leader simply got stabbed. When the new Horde Leader decides to turn on her entire faction. While the Humans new king, who is literally just a child, somehow earns the respect of his entire nation and successfully leads an assault against an elf with thousands of years of experience. When he was barely 20 himself, and had never seen fighting.

And then the Leader of the Goblins also decides to jump ship along with the Traitor Elf Leader.

Then the Alliance King is captured and his soul twisted into a Death Knight. But somehow, unlike all other Death Knights we’ve ever seen, this one can regain his Humanity and was somehow also still alive while being a Death Knight? It seems to be like the story is heavily biased towards the Alliance Faction, with them being unable to do any wrong or even lose their heroes.

And If this is going to be a continueing theme, I just don’t see a reason to play Horde. They are without a doubt the cooler faction, but why would you play the losing side?

Probably.
Which is a good thing. Being the bad guy is just soo much cooler.

Knowing all you do doesn’t matter, because you’re Fatebound to lose in the end, isn’t though.

Not bad guys, they are more the “outcasts” or “underdogs”… sometimes morally grey (but Alliance are no saints either).

In the end we always team up to defeat the actual bad guys of the moment…

So, there is literally no point in playing the Horde? They’re just there to have an excuse for PVP and Monsterous Races. But they’re literally the Underdog faction, that just gets to join the Alliance in their victories… So why would anyone play them?

Why not? Just play the races you like… I play both factions. :eyes:

I honestly don’t think wow will end with one faction standing gloriously victorious over the other (if it will ever end).
I think it will probably be both factions standing unified together as equals and friends in a world of peace after defeating the last final bad guy threat to the world.

Can you imagine that. Orcs and humans happily holding hands in a meadow. It will be glorious. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Lol, I even just learned that the “Victories” we do get… Aren’t actually Victories.

Ingame, I helped my Faction raze through this massive forest and burn down the Elves Capital city… Only to learn that we actually Lost that Fight, and all the Terrotory we claimed was claimed back… And this all happened in a Book?! WTF!

I can unfortunately

The alliance ignoring the refugees in Westfall.

The Alliance slaughtering the inhabitants of a village in The Barrens.

Jaina deciding that every blood elf in Dalaran needed to be purged.

Jaina also trying to convince Wrynn to commit genocide in Orgrimmar

As someone who played Tauren for years when I began, this still breaks my heart. And that place is still burning… BLIZZARD PLEASE UPDATE.

The Alliance is pretty much as golden as it comes most of the horde races were barbaric with possibly the exception of the tauren.

But Jaina is part of Dalaran, which is a Neutral Faction. Not the Alliance?

its 2024 and you discovered it just now ?

of course they are the bad guys. they are even allied with the forsaken, who can be considered the most evil playable race. they want to kill everyone who can breath.

Well, you can easily write a story with Evil Factions, without having them being the “Bad Guys”… Just look at Warhammer.

But in Warcraft, Horde isn’t simply written as an Evil Faction. They are the Bad Guys, they produce the Villains we take down ingame, we’ve even assaulted their Capital in one of the Raids. And the Alliance are always these proud heroes, who even with some morally grey decisions, can do no wrong and are the pennicle of rightousness.

The Horde are the bad guys, but you don’t have to worry–since they are a playable faction, Blizzard will never let them lose. Even the conflicts they “lost,” they got away with murder with not even a slap on the wrist. :tea:
