Are quest item drops from dungeons low?

First we did the entirety of deadmines, and only got 8-10 bandanes each after cleaning the whole dungeon, we farmed the rest of the bandanas in the outer deadmines cave.

We also braved ourself to Wailing caverns as alliance, and after finishing that one, we only got 7-10 deviate hides out of 20 each (none of us was a skinner unfortunately), after completing the dungeon. Normal quest item drops from world mobs seems fine, but it’s only in the dungeons that I seemed to have this problem.

Is it a bug, unlucky or intended?

When it comes to Dungeon quests, especially collect X amount of stuff of dead bodies they can take a while seeing as the loot isn’t shared, meaning if 5 people are doing a quest where they need 10 “Heads” off a mob to complete it, together they would need 50 altogether but the dungeon might only have 30 of X Mob in the dungeon… so obviously 1 or two people are gonna fall short, Its a way of making people run a dungeon more then once. Not all dungeons are like this, Deadmines and Gnomeregan spring to mind though.

Never played alliance (deadmines) but for WC I can confirm, the deviate hides are not enough for 5 full people‘s need.
