Are there only vanilla servers?

what does “era” mean? ty

“Era” just means it is the Classic lvl 60 experience, with no option to go any further like Burning Crusade or Wrath of the Lich King.

The other options are Progression servers where Wrath of the Lich King is currently running (see the Wrath forums) or “Retail” where Dragonfligh is running.

just no progression realm

There were SoM (Season of Mastery) and Classic era.

SoM was classic 1-60 vanilla content but each year it started a new, so that each time vanilla content will open gradually within year not all at once available.
But now SoM is being closed at February.

Classic era means same vanilla content but everything is open. So it like stage of full pre-tbc content without any further changes.

People still hope blizzard would eventually make Fresh Vanilla servers.

Era means you’re playing on a goated realm.
