are u suffering from FPS drops in BFA?

They messed up something in Legion badly and were never able to fix it. Some effects just attempt to choke your PC, even if those effects are in bloody ICC >.>
yea i have £3000 pc and i suffer from fps spikes when certain ground/smoke effect happen, i know for sure its not my pc which is the cause but poor optimisation on blizzards product.

The game engine is still single threaded, so the bottleneck is there, and we can't do nothing about it, jsut overclock :)

I've tested Intel and Ryzens CPUs, Nvidia and AMD GPUs, DX12 and DX11, open world and dungeons, you will find that all that matters is the IPC of the CPU, most of the times WoW is CPU limited, even with an i7 8700K @ 5GHz, and a i3 8350K @ 5GHz is very similar to the 8700K.

Even running at "only" 4.2 Ghz I have way too low fps compared to him.
Same resolution, same settings I have half his fps. I don't think only 800 Mhz can alter this much the framerate (and my first core is surely at 4.5 Ghz in WoW), and even Ryzen performs better than my 7700k while having lower IPC. There is definitively something wrong with my software configuration but I don't know what.

My last hope is to reinstall the game, I've checked a ton of things and found nothing.
yep. in legion i rarely dropped below 80 fps now im struggling to keep 30 in some places.

Core i7-4770K 4.8GHz
GTX 1080
480gb SSD

there is no reason my system which runs battlefield 1 maxed out 100 fps should ever drop below 200 in this game ever
Maybe it's Nvidia gpus not optimised well for wow? Got a rx 580 8gb overclocked (slightly better then a 1060). With an i7 4790k and 16gb ram. I'm sat at 100 fps 90% of the time, get about 80fps in towns and raids. That's on 10 settings.
HY!

Im playing on laptop (i5 6200u/gtx950m2gb/8gbram) and before bfa goes live i have no perfomance issues. High setting 1080p 60fps in world and instances(exept raid) in dx11. BUT after BFA goes live i dropped the ifs to 30-40 with these setting. Switched to dx12 and got 60fps again. But further the same setting is goin down the fps and now somtimes i have only 30-40 fps in wolrd with lower setting than before! HOW? if i turn back to dx11 its going down more...(20-25fps). Any solution? (The problem is same in my desktop i5 4460 and gtx 1080SC 1440p but not so much. in legin have 100+fps now im happy if is 70+ wold and instanced...raid is...so...nc)
I play on a Ryzen 3 2200g, with the integrated Vega 8 graphics card. I had a lot of fps drops a couple weeks ago, even in the open world. What I realised was that the actual problem was the addons. Take a look at what addons you use, and get rid of Deadly Boss Modes (replace it with BigWigs) and Weak Auras. Or at least try it, it really helped me smoothen my experience, and now I play with 35-60 fps even with 50 people around me.
Hi,

After playing BfA since launch, and Legion before that on the same rig with no problems what-so-ever, since a day or two my frames are consistently dropping below 40 - 30, no matter what graphic settings I use.

I checked my rig stats, and none of the hardware is even remotely taxed through this, so I'm unsure of the cause. The only thing I can hold related to this is the massive lag-spikes during this weeks Arathi Highlag's boss-hunts.

Anyone care to chip in on this? Rig specs as per following;

i7 7700k
1070ti rog strix
Corsair Vengeance 32gb
512gb SSD with WoW install

Just crappy performance. I have what is considered as of now very high-end pieces and I'll upgrade to 2080Ti, it'll still be super bad.

Crappy performance on who's end then? Running the game maxed out for weeks on end with no problems and suddenly I get hit in the face with 20fps when I run back into the Great Seal?
Finally raid that i dont have fps drops in. After all that legion fps killer raids.
I have i5 6600K, 1060, 16gb ram and im getting 15 fps in ulduir with lowest graphic setings after clear reinstall of system. I am realy pissed. Temerpatures are ok nothing above 65 degrees. I tried everything i read and nothing helpes. Buddy of mine have almost the same setup and he is running at 80 fps with medium settings.

Any advices expcept burning my pc ritualy?

Probably your CPU, WoW relies more on that than your graphics card.

yeah i thought the same, so i checked WoW's usage of my CPU, wow dosent even use 50% of my CPU's power

and i asked friend of mine who is pro in these kind of things, he told me that my CPU is more than enough for wow

so i dont think my CPU is the problem
