Can we use VPN to play, or is that against the ToS? / will get your account banned for “account sharing”?
As far as i know Blizzard has an automated system of freezing your account when it is logged on from a different region too fast.
I don’t know if they check your MAC address though.
But why would you need a VPN to play WoW?
As part of their DDoS mitigation they have decided to block a series of ISPs from a range of services, including but not limited to the login server
And it is your ISP that has been blocked?
Have you tried contacting them about this?
Seems a bit odd to just deny an entire ISP from being able to log on.
Mine and others, yeah.
It’s a strange option to take, but thats how botnets work there are infected pcs across a range of ISP.
Seems you can by pass it by using IPv6 - but even in 2019 there are a lot of providers that dont support this, or where you cant - say if your paying for a fixed IPv4 address.
At any rate with this being a work day hopefully their engineers will have a handle on it by the end of the day and have lifted the widenet ban
