Are you pro or anti RDF ? I certainly am... find out below!

You here state my reason for No Thanks to Megaservers

Reality check, we already have them… Blizzard didn’t intend to have them either, but this community created it. To be honest, I rather prefer having a megaserver than playing on a server with 1-2k players where u cant get a group going for anything other than cap level content.

Just shows how different we are. I prefer a smaller server. I left one megaserver behind, and am gathering my mojo to pay for transfer to get off another before Wrath launches. I don’t want to wait for 14 days or more to be able to play, one week should do it …

Edit: and if you by your “reality check” mean that I’m not aware of the presence of mega-servers you’re wrong. I have been speaking out for more PvE servers since before Era launched

Completely dishonest argument. You can say that about literally anything considering how the game kept gaining subs, just like after WotLK you could claim that every single thing they did were bad because of the subs dropping, lmfao at the mega copium mental gymnastics.

World PvP was still alive on retail for the majority of the game, probably up until they removed PvP servers, just like it is still alive here in TBCC. People like you have been trying to claim it died since ancient times just because there aren’t raids farming each other in hillsbrad foothills, which is clearly not the only form of wPvP, and certainly not even the last instance of that type of wPvP anyway.

LFD won’t kill world pvp though. Rather than staying afk spamming for a group, you can actually go out in the world and do different things while in a queue.

Why does glancing at LFG chat or posting something in it every now and then cripple you from going out in the world now? I have always done other things meanwhile and used the system successfully.

LFD will not kill wPvP but it will harm it since people can just stand around in the capitals rather than traveling to the dungeons, or gathering around the meeting stones.

Certain servers must have the feature cross realm to even be able to play the game.

The experience is actually terrible on dead servers, and we are then expected to pay 25$ for server fees?

Either make servers obsolete or start cross faction LFG avaliable.

Because you also have to run to the dungeon, and once getting there you will have to HS back(most of the time to a main city)… Like there is no downtime forming a group, once you get 1 player you want to find more asap. Meaning you have to pay attention to chat. Once you join a group, you need to move to the dungeon, and cant simply walk around doing random things.

Just take a look at wotlk private servers, even with LFD the world is full of people. And to be fair, LFD might even break the boost mentality somewhat. Like people are so tired of questing, forming groups, run to dungeon etc that they rather pay for boost. Do you think that 90% of people boosting their character to 70 is healthy for the game? And world PVP?

Wake up dude.

And you are somehow unable to pay any attention to chat while doing other things? Also, people traveling to the dungeon are people that are out in the world, so I see no issue here from a wPvP perspective.

Right, so people people paying for Blizzard’s character boosts, is not a problem with the boosts existing in the first place, it is the lack of an LFD tool. What kind of twisted logic is that? Or are you talking about mages? Because the old world was still very much alive despite mages pre-Blizzard’s boosts.

You wake up, if you want a place where people are tired of playing the actual game, you’ve already got retail.

Actually, many small guilds recruit decent people that their members meet in dungeons.

Come on, LFD allows you to press a button stay in queue for 20 mins… While doing that you can do things without getting interrupted. Yes forming a group takes time, and you need to keep up to get a group going… And yes as a leader you should move to the summoning stone right away…

Blizzard did offer us a SINGLE boost per account. That didn’t make the world empty, just open the bulletin board and have a look… The majority of dungeons are boosts, more people level through boosts than regular dungeon runs/questing. LFD would lessen that ratio by a lot. Getting a teleport back after the dungeon so you can continue with whatever you were doing is a big deal.

I am not tired of the game. I would love to use LFD to find people who simply wants to do a NORMAL dungeon run, and in the meantime just do quests/crafting etc out in the world without getting interrupted and spending time in chat.

You can still meet decent people from your own realm, like megaservers wouldn’t even need cross-realm LFD. And for low pop realms, the LFD could prioritize players from your own realm, if queue gets unreasonably long it will widen search. Removing LFD altogether is just bad.

Truth is, people are exaggerating like crazy about LFD, especially those extremists who "I’ll quit if LFD is (or is not) added. If LFD is a deal breaker, then you definitely don’t care about the LK expansion.

LFD will NOT make or break the expansion. Both options bring both pros and cons - some people seem to have forgotten the cons of LFD or simply are bent on full convenience, likely those are demanding extra drops from raids (lol).

Here’s a memory refresher (some things apply without LFD too) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bgnMpOU1LNQ

At this point, with 2 sides, the best way will be to compromise in a way:

Improve the LFG tool to be more … friendly to use, and deny boosters from using it.
Fix the server populations.
Maintain the original schedule and make it available with the ICC phase.
Make it available for all non-LK dungeons.

I kind of agree. For level 70-80 I don’t care about LFD. Like in retail, mythic dungeons needs to be formed manually, and you have to go to the dungeons and summon. I don’t mind that.

But for leveling alts, LFD is a great tool, and yes I can’t bother leveling again without it. I refuse to buy boosts, and I refuse to read through all these boost ads, and forming a group is a pain… Most people just want boost service. LFD would allow players who just wants to play the game normally to do that.

I was hyped about LFD to level a new char, now that won’t happen. And many like me thinks the same. I know a lot of people who will skip it and go private servers instead.

I legit thought you agreed with yourself…

I did get angry about the LFD thing - but after having calmed down, I feel a bit meh regards to its removal, but I’ll still play it, and will most likely still enjoy it.

The world pvp you speak of now is mostly ganking and unfair fights initiated by the guy with the advantage ofc. It’s fun if you’ve never done it, but gets old really fast.
I do world pvp and have always played on pvp servers btw.

Tbf my experience with tanking in dungeons haven’t been so negative. The problem IMO is much simpler, and it’s that tanks are much easier to gear up oncethey get going in raids, since aside from tier tokens (which commonly are funneled to them anyway) they tend to have next to no competition, at least on avoidance gear. As a tankadin main, I found myself not needing dungeons very quickly in TBC.

You were hyped about LFD? boy i think its time to stop playing open world games for you

Honestly I loved tanking in TBC and Wrath, I did it just for fun, there were so many n00bs around then, that there was always a place - and even a warm welcome - for sonmeone with sword and shield and all mail or plate armour  Those days are gone forever.

Doing things “for fun” is unlikely to make up for the gap with roles including people that do those things not just for fun but also because they need them.
