LFD is fundamentaly changing the PvE experience.
LFD was part of WotLK. And yes I’m willing to negotiate on having it be added later in the game to reflect how it was added later in WotLK. But, if by the time ICC comes out, we don’t have LFD, then not having it is “fundamentally changing the PvE experience” of the game, since the game had LFD then. Instead, we have to read about clueless devs talking about “the spirit of Classic” and being surprised by how virulent and hostile the reaction to their bright idea was.
In this debate, I feel everyone is right, everyone has good reasons, so it is hard to judge.
Personally, Im quite neutral, whatever happens wont hurt my experience too much, but I give small preference to no-RFD.
Before Classic, RFD was kinda normal thing, couldnt imagine not having it, but after three years of Classic, I totally adjusted to manually making groups.
Making group actually requires writing text once and then just repeating it every minute with pushing 3 buttons and groups were done quite fast, within 15 minutes. A bit harder thing is going to actual dungeon entrance for summon if players are far in the world.
On megaservers, people group with strangers every day and there is no need to care about personal reputation as much as on lower pop servers. For that reputation, people care about their behaviour, so grouping in general is more enjoyable with people you know.
It was part of the content drought side of Wrath. The end of Wrath. Not the beginning of it. So LDF is about as much Wrath as LFR is Cata. Ppl who played Wrath dont talk about how amazing the LFD part of wrath was. They talk about the pre-LFD era or ICC specific.

LFD is about as much WotLK as ICC is. Why should we get ICC but not LFD?

I mildly prefer that there is no RDF just to experiment.
Few issues are increased by no RDF (like lvl boosters) but they could - but wont - be addressed by blizzard.

No. But they seem to have learned from their misstakes in retail. Soemthing you guys that want LFD have not. Retail is there for you all to use.

Because clearly, aside from LFD, Retail is exactly the same as WotLK. It has exactly the same content, the same character progression, the same itemization, the same talent trees and skills, etc. Right? Oh wait.

Why do you want it? You are one of those paladin tanks spamming that you tank dungeons for gold and unwanted items. Not going to bash on you but there is alot of talk that “boosters” or such as you would be in favour of not having it added so I am curious to hear your point OP.
I’m not OP, but I’m also a tankadin main and I still want LFD. Not all tankadins tank dungeons for gold, and people also have alt characters besides their tankadins.

Yes but that paladin literally advertises tankservices in exchange for gold. On top of it they boost stratholme. I am playing on that server and am just curious on how their point of view is that they support adding lfd when so many people yell out that exactly that group of people would be in disadvantage having it and losing gold or what not.
Well, there’re other sources of gold farming in WotLK, and WotLK in general requires even less gold than TBC - you don’t really have any major sinks like flying mount to worry about (even the 17k mammoth is somewhat superfluous if you’re an engineer, for example). WotLK has cheaper consumes, cheaper craftables and mats, and more available drops in general.
Maybe OP has experience with WotLK on pservers and figures that his experience with LFD there was better than what would his gameplay be like without. Maybe he has alts. I don’t know, really.
