I’d prefer all roleplay was kosher. Torturing people in grotesque scenes is just as bad as ERP and needs to be thrown in the bin, too.

Again. I disagree fundamentally with the idea that what they do is roleplaying at all. So no. it’s not a case of “As long as it’s not X and Y”. If they did actual roleplay then i’d have no problem with it.
