Yea that sound crazy but let me explain why it cause issue on the pvp balance more it does good :
At the beginning of wow, armor was just for PvE since PvP wasn’t yet fully designed
Most of physical damage dealer were melees and magic dealer was ranged
Nowadays it is no longer the case : many melees now deal magic damage and spec like demonology and hunters are physical
we could argue back in the day that spell pushback and thing.
But nowadays the balance between mobility and control are more balanced
It does not make sense to a melee to counter more physical damage since he can also deal damage, it would have made more sense for armor to help reduce damage versus ranged.
Also armor create issue on balance nowadays : Some class tank like 47% of physical damage thank to armor than a cloth who have very low armor.
You play physical damage :
you balance versus the high armor class you deal a tons of damage versus cloth
You balance versus cloth the high armor is totally unkillable
it also create unbalance on the defensive : why some class should take less damage versus both magic and physical damage when some class can only defend with physical damage ?
Versality in my opinion is way enought to protect in PvP, it protect versus everyone damage that is physical or magical.
Armor is a parameter that itself create imbalance in PvP
It will also require the parameter of “dodge” to work against magical spell to make it more balance
But in overall yea, most “X thing is OP” very often come to the class is dependant on Armor parameters and create disparity between the target he attack if the target have more armor or have very low armor (hello mage vs Hunters)
hes right btw armor in general applies a major flaw in balancing, if everything had the same armor then all physical dmg dealers would be easier to balance.
this is just from a mathematical perspective armor adds additional variables whereby making it harder to balance. By giving everything the same armor there’d be less edge cases ie like hunter vs plate or other examples.
Then MM has to be banned from participating in battlegrounds.
Uh, it’s well known that MM hunters “struggle with high armoured classes.” They don’t, really, but that’s another topic. So, of course this thread is about MM hunters. You “struggle” with plate classes, so you want them nerfed. It’s just a cleverly disguised nerf thread.
Try to redirect the topic all you want, since the idea of the topic came since 1 week ago when i tested outlaw rogue on PTR and noticed the difference with ambush versus a cloth and versus a evoker
but i guess you have a issue with MM so you want to transform all the topic with MM
I wonder if i didn’t played MM people would at least read the OP and look in history, but i may ask too much from some in the forum
