Been trying to access the eu armory the past few days and all I get is either an “Error 404 Something’s Not Quite Right” or “This is fine.
500: Internal Server Error”. Tried the usual log out with my account and back in as well as delete all cache, settings and cookies for all blizzard websites but the same error.
Same. I use the armories to vet new applicants to our guild, and to help organise and deal with guild raids.
I realise both of these things are guilds, and guilds are well down on the list of priorities, but there are a lot of others who use the Armories and there’s no doubt going to be plenty of knock-on effects if it stays down for too long.
Is Blizzard aware? Are they aware what the problem is (as this seems to happen fairly often)? Are they able to fix it?
Unless someone’s reported the error to them, probably not. Bug reports, even those related to the website as I understand it, are reported via the bug reporting tool. Not the forums.
Probably, considering they do keep fixing it whenever it breaks.
Huh … I was not aware of that. The only way I’ve seen of making a bug report about the Armories is via this support article … which directs us (in the EU) to report on a bug report forum in the US. https://eu.battle.net/support/en/article/10476
I mean properly fix it. If they’re “fixing” it and it still keeps breaking, that suggests they’re using a bit of spit and gum rather than making a proper fix
I’ve posted on the US website bug report forums … I noticed their Armories are down too. And there are several complaints in the same forum going back over a week of sporadic issues with it.
As someone who used to work in backend webdev (but not for Blizzard), its an unfortunate fact that the webdev team always seem to be the last ones to be informed of database structure changes, and quite often our requests to developers for information go unanswered for weeks.
In my case, my manager managed to get me read-only access to the databases, so I could always view the new structures for myself, and that vastly improved webdev development speed, but for large companies like Blizzard, thats probably not an option.
