With that logic we should just remove the forums entirely because people can possibly be rude on them, it makes no sense.
Just because it -could- be used that way doesn’t mean it’s the only way to use it.
What other way can it possibly be used…
People link builds etc. via forums, blogs etc. The current purpose for the armory that I have seen in general use is to ensure they only take people with the prior achievement to their dungeon run to ensure an easy run, or to forum flame.
In vanilla, we used to “vet” people by talking to them, or playing with them. Now it is all “must have X”.

Stop forcing the game to go down the same missguided path that it already once took.
Adding an Armory to Classic WoW would allow you to check a player’s gear without having to meet with them in game and use the inspect function.
It seems like a small change, but it removes the need for certain social interactions which are important to Classic as a whole. Walking past a player and realising he has an amazing weapon or armor equipped is a cool moment, and being able to just lookup/check players so easily would detract from that imo.
This aside from the general #nochanges, which should include adding website functionality that never existed like the armory or using the AH without logging in.
They do actually. It’s for the same reason i always use this character on the Forums. That, and the fact they try to get to you ingame, which is what happened to me.
So instead, now they sometimes rip into me because they can’t ‘check my credentials’ and go around my words and attack based on some piece of gear or content i did/have or not.

You are very, very much mistaken.
Looks like they disabled the web interface component of the Classic armoury, the links that used to work now return 404s.
