So mail will have higher armour than Plate and Cloth will hav higher armour than Leather.
blizzard you are a joke. terrible developers

Instead of giving MM armor penetration talent, they did those armor changes, thats what it seems like. Expanding the problem MM has over to all other classes. They are doing the complete opposite of what they should of done.
I mean those changes are very good for hunter esp MM but bad for plate classes. Meta will shift immensely next week. And by the way hunter will still counter mage.
The biggest winner of all is warlock they were already tanky enough, now they need to nerf dark pact asap or they will smash everyone next week.
This is not true.
First, you could have checked yourself by logging on two characters with different armor type and same iLvL. You did not because you are lazy (and apparently stupid), and prefer making dumb assumption with insults on top rather than take the 5s needed to log over a second character, or ask a friend. I have a fully geared Priest, the physical damage reduction provided by armor is 11%. With 30% bonus it becomes 14%. I also have fully geared Rogues, the physical damage reduction provided by armor is just above 17%. If you have ever been to school you can easily notice that 14 is lower than 17. If you check a mail usee vs a plate user you get a similar result. All they did was reduce the gap between armor types to make it less hit or miss with specs such as MM or WW that either destroy everybody, or just tickle plate wearers.
Second, you would have to be insanely idiotic to believe for even one second that the numbers they decided to nerf and buff armor values by have not been checked to avoid scenarios such as the one you describe. I am not the most fervent defender of Blizzard’s balancing decisions overall, but please, to think devs are unable to do X times 1.3 on a calculator is stupid and insulting.
The conclusion is that you really need to make overly dumb posts that are full of nonsense, and unverified (and false) conspiracy theories.
How did you come to that conclusion? Your saying its a 3% difference from 11 to 14. Do you know blizzard buffed cloth armor by 35% and not 3%? Did you forget to read the number thirtyFIVE?
percentages are hard man
I suspected you did not know how math works, but to see it displayed so plainly and without shame is mind boggling.
Because I try to be nice even with people who apparently skipped school their entire life, I will explain. Read slowly, and carefully.
When you increase something by a %, it basically comes down to a simple multiplication. Increasing something by 30% is the same as multiplying it by 1.3, by 35% is the same as multiplying by 1.35, by 80 is the same as multiplying by 1.8, and so on.
With that newfound knowledge, you should be able to understand the following:
CLOTH ARMOR RIGHT NOW REDUCES PHYSICAL DAMAGE BY ABOUT 11%. IF YOU INCREASE THAT REDUCTION BY 30% (w.e if it’s 35% it’s going to be almost the same), IT MEANS, MATHEMATICALLY, THAT YOU MULTIPLY THAT REDUCTION BY 1.3
11 times 1.3 is … roughly 14 ! Tadaaa ! It’s almost 15 if you do it with 35%.
Just to be clear, increasing something by 35% doesn’t mean “WE DO +35% FLAT LOL”, it means you take the value, and you add 35% of it, so, roughly a third of it. So you see, when the value we talk about is 11% to begin with, if you add ROUGHLY A THIRD, it still remains a low value. Lile bruh, if I tell you that I ate ONE apple and that you need to eat 50% of that, you gonna eat half an apple or FIFTY ONE APPLE BECAUSE YOU DID ONE + FIFTY ? Lmao.
It’s actually almost too funny to be true. I should thank you for the entertainment.
Now, you know how math work, and you can stop to stress out. Cloth only get a little more armor.
Stop skipping school.
Someone needs to give this man a nobel prize cause thats the first time i see shadeniz almost triggered. Most of the times my guy tries to explain nonsense about rogue class, etc etc seeing him calm, after seeing that post , ngl , i laughed af loooool.
Tldr , 10+1=101 love ya shade thanks for making my day lol
He must have reached the limits of my tolerance to stupidity with that one, honestly.
Hahah man, well… Im assuming you’re here since vanila , so ima ask you, havnt you got used to such posts yet ?
I’m on retail since BfA only. But stupid people exist outside of WoW too, it’s not like I have never seen some. Trying to give them pieces of education is free to do when the lack is that deep.
Oh, that explains it.
Well for sure about the irl thing you mentioned… But trust me on this , the lvl of stupidity you can see in wow forums… Is legendary… Ive been here since forever with 2 accounts and what ive seen , is majestic.
Also something i learned in here is , you cannot win an argument with a stoopid guy cause he will drag you to his depths and win by having more experience
Awful changes my god
Yes with 30% more armor it will be wizard meta. And all 3 lock speccs will be tankier than a bear druid. Mages will be a blink god difficult for melees to kill even MM will have huge problem against mages and i think mage will beat us next week
and rmp will be back as well since rog is busted
Will MM have such huge problems with mages? Is a 35% armor buff really gonna change that much? What will this turn out to be maybe a 5% DMG reduction?
Yes that means that if Cloth has say 2000 armor now after the change they will have 2700. If they have 1000 armor they will have 1350. 35% more armor depending on how much armor they have now will be probably like a 5% change to DMG taken for mage?
I’m not sure that’s how that works, armor does not scaling is not linear, like up to leather / mail armor it scales super fast, but after that I think it used to slow down a lot. So it might turn out to be a little bit more than 3%. How much armor do you exactly now have?
Love you , thank you for entertainment.
yes even now fighting a mage is an uphill battle for us rn and by next week the only class we could beat 1v1 wont be beatable and we will just die to everything hunter mains might as well just /delete and start all over again on another class.
and the armor reduce for plate classes is not enough it should have been at least 2/3 which means 65% reduced armor
This is a sign that devs playling lock mage and rog cause this rog nerf is a joke
Just curious, how much armor does a fully geared plate char have (don’t have a geared plate char right now)? And how is armor calculated, is there something like diminishing returns? I don’t think that buffing light armor armor by a few % would make much of a difference but losing a few % points on heavy armor when your mitigation is very high could be a massive nerf (much higher than it looks on the paper).
Shadeniz has chose violence today
Can’t wait to be stuck in 10 sec fear chains with full dots taking 50% of my hp. Warlocks are gonna be abusing this
