Seriously. I’ve been running around for several minutes, just trying to finish up a simple kill quest. There are maybe 4-5 other people in the area, but it’s completly impossible for me to get a tag on anything, because every other class seems to have gotten some kind of instant ability.
Mages running around with their Frost Lances, Priests with their Penance, Warlocks with their Haunt, Rogues with Shadowstrike.
And what do Warriors get… Victory Rush… Seriously, why didn’t we get a pull ability like Heroic Throw, instead we have to run around, fighting for Tags that gets stolen half the time, it’s honestly infuriating.

It’s technically ranged, but the range is like 10 yards, so it’s just barely outside of melee range. Definitely won’t help you if a hunter decides to arcane shot away from you.
Make a macro
/startattack
/charge
While the others tab or hover their mouse over the mob you will pretty much instantly charge.

Use charge or ranged weapon.
Funny thing if you charge and your first attack is a miss/parry/dodge , you wont get the tag so people can yoink your target.

You get charge after a few levels, a bow/gun too. This isn’t a problem that is new to SOD, it’s a problem that always existed in Classic and hasn’t really been overly significant except for this exact scenario of hundreds/thousands of people in the same area at level 1 when you have no tools.
Victory Rush is incredibly strong for farming later on, I power farmed mobs from level 17-19 faster than I ever have by quite some margin, due to Victory Rush healing, I just never had to stop. It is miserable down low, as it always was in Vanilla, but it gets a lot better.

Why you bother yourself by trying to do quests on overpopulated server ?
Use /who future, find 3 or 4 other players who are above 13 level. Get in to Deadmines and run the dungeon till first boss. It will bring you about 2 - 2.5k experience in 8 to 10 minutes. Reset the instance after first boss and repeat until you are 18 level.
@Dwindleton Don’t forget Shaman shocks and Druid Moonfire. And hunters have ranged damage. Warriors really are the worst class for tagging. It’s even more frustrating that you can charge a mob only to be beaten to the punch by an instant ability. Then you’re in combat and charge is on cooldown.
I’ve played warrior for years. Thrown weapons could help you and the Warbringer rune might help you a ton. Once you excape the early zone madness and the launch pop peak spreads out, this won’t be a problem as much. You can also group on kill quests, if players are social enough to accept your invitation or invite you.

Get the Quick Strike Rune, and put 3 points into the Improved Heroic Strike talent.
Then you’ll have a instant ability, which works like a “mini” Mortal Strike, and does a fair amount of damage too.

Why the hell would you need Quick Strike for tagging? It does nothing that a regular attack or a Heroic Strike doesn’t do as well and you can’t use it out of a Charge unless you had rage banked.
This is aside from:
- Why are you not using Victory Rush for the same effect, more damage and added sustain?
- Why are you using the garbage that is Quick Strike to begin with? Unless you’re doing nothing but single target DPS there are other things to use as rage dumps.
Victory rush is BS indeed, its the weakest ability ever they could’ve given us. 10%heal is nothing, we still gotta eat after every kill.

Don’t worry you’ll be fine
Just skip some quests if there is too many people, TRUST ME, you’re wasting your time. There are PLENTY of quests everywhere, don’t bother beeing a sheep and do what everyone do.
You’ll loose so much more time trying to tag etc instead of just skip the quest.
Honestly warrior doesn’t feel food to play imo, tagging is a real issue makes everything longer. I just went elswhere and quested and came back later to try again. Frustrating af though
Questing is the least of your problems. Save your nerves, delete that and play a different class. Endgame is dogpoop right now, I get kited by a hunter while it’s “Scorpion” pet hits for 150 per 0.7-8s on my 1k health pool. I just get erased in ~2.5-3s.
Mages? One nova, blink and I am erased.
Rogues? Ambush, shadowstep + ambush rune… dead.
Paladins? a level 23 grey-greenie 4shotted me.
It’s just another untested dogpoop release from Activi$$ion. I have already deleted it until they release any sort of “hotfixes”, because if it remains like this… the sub is gone.

Warrior is utter garbage in SoD.
The lvl 25 lvl cap is a nonsense. They should at least have put it to 30, so war would have more catchup, no kiting possibilities as well as the 3rd stance.
But here, it feels like rage generation has been silently nerfed. There is to much miss on AA, and overall the war is garbage.
I mean, every other class received nice spells to adds up or entirely change mechanics. War got uninteresting spells that we don’t care to be frank.
Devastate is only for tank, monotarget.
Thunderclap is useless as it generates almost no threat, so 50% buff doesn’t add up, and 6% reduction to attack speed means even more issues with rage generation.
In the other hand, you get a lock with a new toolkit, pals with a new toolkits, rogue with a new toolkits, etc.
It’s just a joke to me.
Plus people always say “War is broken in classic WTF”.
Yeah but it’s not classic, plus WE ARE DUCKING CAPPED AT 25.
It’s sad, really sad.
