And I answered comparing leveling of Classic to Retail is pointless. Everyone here seems to agree that retail is not a RPG, you go instantly lvl 120 etc… Well, that’s true. So why tf do you keep comparing leveling of Classic vs Retail if you agree yourself it’s not the point of retail ?
I mean everyone knows that if you’ve noticed. But if you are happy to pay blizz for doing few hours of raiding and NOTHING else because nothing else to do in bfa that needs brains then it’s all good.
Feeling sorry for OP with all these mildly autistic replies from people. As expected, but anyways:
I currently play a priest in classic, which has a pretty nice rotation of a few buttons but I haven’t heard anyone say this in an argument on a mechanical basis.
If anyone says that, be sure to remind them of mage and the exciting gameplay of frostbolt 1 button spam.
Otherwise:
classic usually is not spells only. Depending on your class you will also use a wand. But the core lies in the ressource management. Your own HP and such.
I mean if we go into depth then that’s true, since classic got so many stats, resistances and abilities that you often need to take into account. Just not the ability rotation itself.
IF you chose to play a rogue in classic then you are playing the class that was so overpowered that blizzard subsequently had to base every other class in modern wow upon it.
If you are a rogue in classic, then you are just playing modern wow but with progression.
Again game wise classic isnt hard. If you dont have the dmg to kill a mob that doesnt mean the game is harder. Just go farm and get better gear. Classic was all about farming. And there was a lot of it. . If you are tilted when someone says that classic isnt hard its not their fault and no need to be rude. Classic isnt hard. End of story. The things that make it harder then retail are easy to solve. Get a party. That is why classic is better then retail. You actually need to interact with other people. Game wise classic is easy.
You are correct that gameplay wise retail is superior.
Problem is that retail remove the value of everything.
A simple example:
A spell i want cost 10 silver.
I dont have 10 silver.
I gotta grind for that skill.
This give the skills more emotional value as i put the time and effort to get it.
In BFA i just get it.
It doesnt have any emotional value to me.
Same with my demon slave’s, or crafting.
They thing that makes people love classic is the value vs effort.
I would love to play bfa if i didnt feel like nothing i did mather.
Leveling?
The grind before end game.
Epic gear?
Worthless next patch.
Storyline?
Lets destroy more alliance towns.
Just now we fought of a horde raiding party on zandalari tribe.
People grouped up and work togather.
If i was playing retail people would just say: Change shard.
There is a feeling of community because of mautal exploitation.
If we look at pure gameplay then yes retail is beter.
If we look at emotional value replay doesnt make us earn anything.
We never feel like we earn it.
It all boils down to luck.
Still has a point on my end. Since it is an MMO after all, and MMO games tend to have something of a level progression built in to them, ergo it’s part of the gameplay, something that Retail fails at.
Yeah. And that’s something that makes it feel less appealing for people who like Classic.
First off, I never said that it is “Not the point of retail”, go accuse someone else of that.
Secondly, it’s still part of the game, no? So why shouldn’t I compare it? Unless retail started putting every single character made at level 120, outside of the freebie booster at the start of an expansion.
Yeah. Not everyone’s super interested in raiding though. What if I want to play in the outside world, and still feel relatively challenged consistently even if I’m not in a dungeon? Only thing I can do in Retail at that point is either gathering materials for professions that serve no practical purpose, or go farm Azerite… Neither of which feel fulfilling.
Ah yes, trying to put forward an argument as to why people see Classic as more enjoyable is being “mildly autistic”. Makes perfect sense.
I’m not saying boost shouldn’t exist, here again you’re trying to make me say things I didn’t. I said it’s good as it is now, with overpriced boosts.
If you really want to skip lvling, maybe because it’s your fifth alt and you want to try something, then I’m totally okay with the fact that you boost yourself. It shouldn’t just be a free choice, so it’s good as it is now.
Can you stop wasting your time trying to make me say things ffs ?
Bfa is so hard, that you can literally not know who has earned their mythic achievements, since you can you know… BUY them all with money nowadays, such hard raiding.
for the same reason that I won’t compare a motorcycle with a car in terms of speed. Yeah, sure, the motorcycle is also designed with an engine, yet it’s two different concepts.
