As boring as expected

Yeah, call me condescending, the irony. I tried to play nice, but kind of stopped after the 70th insult-based post from those “people who are my seniors”.

You don’t play nice. I’ve seen you around here before. If you’re getting angry and frustrated to the point you’re “tired of being nice” then it’s probably good you take some time away from your keyboard.

I’m fine with that Clare, I initially targetted all the people who claimed in general forums that Classic gameplay was harder than retail, and this thread fell for another classic/retail war. I should have expected it, tho.

To answer your question, I mostly played on private servers since back then, I couldn’t afford any subscription. I was a rogue, and ended up 60.

Every MMO ever has had grinds for progression, whether it was gold or rep. AP grind is no worse than how in Vanilla you need to grind like a sweatshop worker to get your consumables.

Classic and retail have different play styles. The progression on retail is mythic+ and raid. the leveling is easy because you focus more in end game. all the expansions have story lines tho. and they are quite interesting. As for classic its different because you dont get gear so easy while leveling. But as for mechanics retail is way better than classic. You cant take that away from retail. Classic has easy mechanics on bosses. There is progression in both games. There is story in both games. There is combat in both game. Both games are RPG

I suppose a lot of people here should follow your advice then. Just read all the people spitting out their frustration here without bringing anything else. You’ll have plently of them just here.

That’s kind of ironic. Don’t worry, tho, when there will be no one with a sane mind to answer, I won’t anymore.

So how come everyone hates AP grind then? And bfa is concidered a failure like WoD? Surely it’s more than just being the same thing with different name.

Another feeble mind at work. Hard = based on mechanics only. Right. As if it’s hard with many mechanics if you have addons telling you exactly what to do whenever? As if mechanics matter when you can survive without giving a damn, because your class has every survivability spell the game has to offer anyway?

In Classic one single backspawn can kill you, which makes the game harder in the leveling process. You have to watch over your shoulder constantly. You can’t kill an elite mob (yes, actual elites - most of them) unless you’re geared out of the wazoo and know exactly what you’re doing. Watching you trying to define ‘hard’ in a game is amusing to watch. Your brain is so limited.

It’s called a band wagon.

By whom? Is there a hive mind I am not aware of?

Well you at least made sense so thanks for that.

I personally don’t enjoy game focusing only on end game with muh rio scores and achievemnts as a mesurement tools like applying to a job.
I want the real mmo experience, not tool simulator for teleports to dungeons and staring at my dps meter.

You know what your stance is called then? Being a fanboy.
Both kinda valid and invalid stances… if you think theres lots of people playing bfa now, you are sadly really clueless.

Damn, are you saying everyone on retail is leaving for Classic? “BFA is dead, and I’ll be the last one standing in it” - Raikken

Pretty much this, except not the MMO experience. I want the RPG put back into this MMORPG.

I think people should just play the version they prefer and enjoy it  I’m not gonna try to convince anyone to convert. If you enjoy BFA and have more fun in it then more power to you!

Well that just sound like a condescending message spiting out frustration without adding anything.

Follow your own advice, dude.

No frustration here. I’m loving that people are voting with their wallets. Or I guess if we’re talking about BFA, they’re crashing the auctionhouse markets to cash out and buy tokens for Classic.

Do educate me, oh wise poster. How many people are playing bfa now?

Well, I’m not loving people who try to make other people say thing they didin’t just because they are out of arguments.

Retail is not an actual RPG game. You don’t know what RPG is.
There’s no immersive gameplay or actual feel of progression in retail. It’s dumbed down to the point of no return. You can brain lag yourself through the game, and for it to become slightly difficult (no need for mana management, no need to do anything but listen to addons and other help tools - almost afk) you’ll need to run the same thing over and over until you reach Mythic xx, but that doesn’t feel like progression, it feels like boredom and slavery to no avail.

You are basically handed free items all over the place. You can kill normal mobs and loot legendaries, you can do normal world quests and end up with titanforged this and that, being the most casual of casuals geared out of the wazoo. For little to no work rate. You don’t even care about the items you receive. It’s fun for 10 seconds before you forget what the hell you received.

In Classic there’s immersive gameplay and progression all the way. Professions, leveling, socializing, talent trees, storyline, dungeons (where rewards matter), exploration … that’s a real RPG. Retail is lvl 120 boost, free gear and afking in the city. You don’t talk to anyone throughout the whole ordeal. That’s not an RPG. Retail is MMOAFK.

Nah why bother, you spoonfeed bfa players won’t believe anyway. Back to
your faceroll game with faceroll dh class.

People have told you. Probably a couple of times.

Resource management, the careful pulls against mobs as mobs hit harder and pose an actual threat, having more abilities to play around with even at lower levels. All of this fall under gameplay and are present in Classic

Currently playing a Warlock and I have four-five available spells at level eight, six if counting second rank of Shadow Bolt. I think I recall only having three abilities at level eight.

Edit for fun:

I am guessing “A fair amount of people” at best. Not that many at worst. I know some players who say that they like their current WoW (One actually came with the excuse that it’s nostalgia that is making people play Classic… Yeright).
I am going to go with “Not that many”.
