Ashenvale Quests removed?

Hey all. When I played wow bitd (2009 - 14) there were a bunch of quests involving the demons on Felfire Hill and some nice chains and so forth. I was looking forward to doing these again for pure nostalgia value but I could find no mention of them on Wowhead Classic’s list of Ashenvale quests. does anyone know anything about this? Do I pick up the quests somewhere else or have they, in fact, been removed. Or perhaps they were added in a later expansion? Thanks.

Given the dates you supplied, are you sure these weren’t post-world revamp quests? Cataclysm was released in 2010, which completely reworked all the classic zones.

Those were added in Burning Crusade when Alliance got their Outpost Forest Song in the eastern part of the zone. Im not sure if those quests were added for both factions tho.

I was just reading this:

It seems the area was reworked in TBC. The quest Reclaiming Felfire Hill was renumbered internally for Cataclysm (which is why there are two versions on wowhead, one marked as “obsolete”) but remained the same. This starts the chain that ends with killing some druids, a quest that in Classic is reached differently.

All those quests were implemented in the patch that went live just before TBC was released.

The patch revamped Forest Song as a new questing area, and introduced a whole bunch of new L30-35 quests, including the Felfire Hill ones you mentioned.

New quests were also added in Theramore Island, Dustwallow Marsh, and the new town of Mudsprocket in Dustwallow Marsh.

I think this was added later (probably during TBC) because I remember the change and I started playing with 2.x.

My memory is that they came with the pre-patch, though of course I might be wrong and have just forgotten - it’s been quite a few years.

I just checked and apparently a few quests were indeed added/modified in 2.0, but Dustwallow was changed with 2.3 when they buffed quests to give more experience and reduced the experience per level up to level 60. I think that’s when I started leveling my first rogue, having played a druid for most of TBC.

Yeah I checked too. It was definitely 2.3, which was the Zul Aman patch. Basically my memory was playing tricks on me.

Interestingly that was also when we first saw guild banks - which also feels strange to me, as I could have sworn that they came with WotLK.

It just proves how much you forget when you haven’t playing the game for seven years.

No mate. I played for almost a year before Cataclysm came out. I’m painfully aware of what Cataclysm did to the zones. That’s part of the reason I’m enjoying Classic so much wallowing in nostalgia

Crapaclysm zone revamp can GDIAF. It’s what made me cancel my account.

While I’m all for authentic Classic, I really wish they would add all those quests from TBC. It feels bad to experience unfinished quest chains.
