Ashes of Creation

Anyone else looking forward to this? Been following it for a while and it’s starting to look pretty good now it’s nearing release.

High hopes. Looks nice for an MMO too.

It looks like a very promising and greatly ambitious MMORPG, probably the most ambitious an MMORPG has ever been, but sadly my PC wouldn’t even be able to run it on 1 fps so I don’t see myself playing it any time soon.

Looks awesome though.

Inam eaiting for it, but im afraid theres ti many ambition/inovation that looks good on paper and the execution will be awfull.

Any idea of release yet?

It will kill WoW just like Rift Online.

It MIGHT release in 2023. I wouldn’t call that a nearing release.

Also they’re selling 375$ cosmetic packs in their store along with access for alpha testing which is a bit strange. Imagine the outrage if Blizz would do something like that. I feel like the hype clouds the judgement of most of the people.

In the other hand their ideas look promising, but I have my concerns about the execution. Like build your own city and elect your major, but majors will be famous streamers because their viewers will vote for them so casual players will be excluded immediately from a part of the game. Or just some general concern about the min-maxing culture and their naive ideas.

Seems more or less like the next star citizen to me.

Overpromising and overconfident game that seems to be made for guilds-mafia and no-lifers. Hard pass.

That game looks very bad + cash grab. I feel sorry for the people who are already giving money to that game. The graphics are below average, the animations are tragicomic, the world looks like Disneyland. Overhyped game, just like Bless and many others were, because people are eager for new mmo games.

No, it’s gonna be dead on arrival. Only mmo games that I’ve actually liked other than WoW in recent decades has been rift and wildstar.

will try it due to its uniqueness but I doubt it’s ever going to replace wow on the market no matter what.

Nice mix of opinion and stoicism from some die hards.

Yeah the super expensive packs are odd. Like star citizens ship packs to help fund development.

It looks promising mind you. I’ll definitely try it out.

Calm down children. Wow killer wasn’t mentioned. Only asking.

A friend was looking forward to it like years ago, what happened to it?
Is it still being cooked slowly?

Yeah I know mate. I had it bookmarked like 2 years ago and just noticed they released a fair whack of updates over past months. Open alpha is may this year till June so that’s a step forward.

YouTube has some content updates.

I’ll definitely be joining the open alpha.

I will certainly try it on release, even it if flops, I will probably have more fun in it than in Bfa and SL combined

I tried once a new very promising MMO back then and that was ESO…
The result was a pain, the game full of bugs imbalanced af and on top of that the MS response of the server is like 100+ at least in hours people dont play whilst is like 500+ in the afternoons when most players log in.

Sadly we all have complains about WoW but nobody can come even close to it.

Yeah totally. I had high hopes for ESO. It didn’t deliver. Who knows Ashes might. Or might not but I will be trying it out.

If they get PvP right I’ll be all over it.

ESO is actually a beautiful game with a beautiful world and interesting stories, but the combat and animations are awful, maybe the worst thing I’ve ever seen in any mmo game, and that turned me away from that game. Who doesn’t mind this, I believe he/she will be able to enjoy this game. They fixed a lot of bugs and upgraded the servers, but it’s still far from perfect. The only game I’ve found as an occasional stable replacement for WoW is GW2. And I agree, wow is still by far the best mmo game and I don’t see that changing any time soon. The upcoming mmo games don’t look promising. The problem with wow is that in recent years it has been using a minimum of its potential. The game is overloaded with cheap systems whose sole purpose is for players to play as long as possible, and when you do your daily routine to satisfy the systems then you no longer have the desire to play even what you are actually having fun with.

I played ESO and I don’t think the combat was too bad tbh… Felt a lot like the other Elder Scrolls gaming.

This is very true, seems like there is little incentive for WoW to do anything extra to keep players subbed.

Yeah count me in to that as well, i was monstly roaming alone inside cyrodiil and in what they call “prime time” the game is literally unplayable.

I actually love the combat animations they have…
My problem is they are so detailed that their cheap servers cant handle it. Last time i tried it they implemented a sort of fix? To animation canceling, a friend told me its a bug. Have no idea since but when im playing the game i can tell you that sometimes my abilities JUST DONT GO OUT because the game is glitching and i hate that.

100% true!

200% true

It’s not a bug, it’s a feature. You have to do it for max dps.
