Asmongold is right RWF is ruining WoW

Just make mythic raiding flex after the initial four weeks of a tier. Noone would lose anything with this change, and more guilds would try it out. The 20 man formula is outdated.

2 months (ok 7 weeks). And yes, i think our guild is semi competent.

He clearly says “there isn’t enough people playing WoW”. That’s the main problem there so don’t clip it out of context.

When my guild and I were raiding still we were doing normal/HC progression only
but often some of us used Mythic 1-4 boss PUGs to get extra gear. Or outgear HC drops due to M+. Like still remember farming first boss mythic in BoD for azerite piece and like first 3+ in Nazjatar - that’s a realm locked PUG on week one,two
 that just clear the boss.

And if Blizzard would delete trash and time wasted on getting back to boss we could spend more time progressing harder bosses (but not degenerate punishing mechanics). If LFR gets N’zoth or Star Augur it gets to meme level really quickly. Then you get Normal, which is run 1-2 times and then HC guilds start HC progression, while Mythic guilds starts with HC and then move to Mythic progression. Then lots of wannabies moan how “hard” or “toxic” or “elitist” something is while not in a raiding guild or not really working on improving - and as your average good player is in HC progression guild all those wannabies are left out and can’t even be mentored up or whatever

And FF14 hardest encounters may not even drop gear, just cosmetics and everyone interested with harder content can’t wait for next big progression.

If WoW would lower the barrier to entry for HC/Mythic maybe it would turn better? Giving you core part of your gear front and then slow minor upgrades as you progress without some degenerative weekly gatekeeping in the vault/box etc.

Not to mention that the game doesn’t guarantee you a raid clear. Not everyone is capable or interested in finishing content on given difficulty.

My interest in raiding has decreased over time, WoTLK - WoD I raided with my guild, I started doing it multitple times a week, then over the expansions it gradually decreased to twice, then to once, then we stopped raiding entirely.

In Legion I pugged pretty much everything on normal or heroic, which continued into BFA, until Nyalotha which I only bothered to do on LFR.

I’ve literally not stepped into a single normal or above raid in Shadowlands, aside from the story (and fated stuff) via LFR I just don’t see the point.

Raiding takes more effort to organise, more time to complete and has a low chance to reward loot that’s on a weekly lockout and can’t be upgraded.

M+ on the other hand, are easy to organise, offer a 40% chance of loot per run (that increases on keys over +15), are completely repeatable and offer upgradeable loot. On top of that it has a set of affixes that change how the dungeons play that swap on a weekly basis, which is a lot of fun imho (except Quaking, booooo).

If they offered a 5 man version of the raids that are split up like LFR (1-3 bosses a wing) with scaleable difficulty and rewards, I’d be all over that like flies on a dog turd. Maybe something that could release after the world first is over, as to not draw away from it but allow people to experience the encounters and rewards at a reasonable difficulty without the massive ballache of actually raiding.

To me the issue isn’t the difficulty as much as it is that everything depends on addons. If you don’t have all the correct addons the game isn’t playable. Barrier of entry for new players is too high.

I totally agree. For the first time in my 12 years history of raiding i’ve just leave after sylvanas mythic kill. I had mental break down after 4 months of trying to kill one single Boss and getting 100 ap and 30 gold after kill. Season 3 i was just doing some m+, as healer and that was the best thing i did in years.

The issue is that classic andies are pushing for classic solutions which are actually the reasons why raiding is dying. Here are some examples :
-Massive amount of trash is neither fun nor engaging, since they’re supposed to be
trash rather than actual challenge to overcome.
-Grinds which is seen as core part of any mmorpg but time changes and most of players don’t have as much time as they used to have. I was fine with legion grinds because I was a student so I had plenty of free time. I didn’t like 8.2 grinds and onwards because that’s when I started working 40H per week with 2 to 3 H of daily commute time.
-Content not being segregated is also killing raiding. I mean any good guild would ask their raiders to complete their M+ vault which is a 2 evening commit, on top of 3 to 4 raiding nights. That’s just too much and segregating content moving forward should be the way. On top of removing open world grinds. Long live raid logging.

It would not be to hard to fix dungeons and raids realy.

first make all raid gear uppgradable to same level as the highest M+ gear is, 304 now

half the raid bosses per raid, 5 or 6 at max, and then release one raid and second part as an seperate raid few months later. or release both at same time.

Mythic raid should be flex raid,

normal raids are fine though Heroic raid should not be as hard as the last one in Shadowland is, it doesnt benefit anyone.

gear drop from raid bosses should be higher, if for example 10 man raid, atleast 4 or 5 items should drop, and go up from there to a max of 12 or so, giving people a chance to gear up.

releasing more raids be it only 1 boss raids would also be beneficial, they could even be the true hard bosses, and not as world boss that usulay is just canonfodder after 2 hours of max level.

You can, but apparently not the complainer I replied to checks
4 and a half month ago.

Why are you promoting that pedo?

Been thinking a lot about why and what it is that's so attractive with Classic WoW for me cuz it makes no sense.

Pretty sure it's bcz retail feels so serious, it's all about competing and winning and I never "relax" when I play it, meanwhile classic feels like an old hobby.

Here we have one of the most successful modern WoW players talking about how even he feels too stressed when playing retail WoW.

Honestly. Retail WoW has just become waaaaaay to competitive. I like M+, and it is the only reason I still play the game. But Blizzard really need to be better at introducing both fun PvE and fun PvP content, making both content more casual. Raiding is just out of the question for many with how hardcore it has been, and the only viable alternative is
speedrunning dungeons? That is insane!! (Personally I honestly prefer raiding to M+, but since Legion, raids have been tuned too hard, except for the final BFA raid, which could be outgeared with corruptions).

I still think for PvP, arenas were the biggest mistake Blizzard ever made. PvP should always have been focused on fun and not competitiveness. Especially in a game with such insane lack of balance. Like, why even have rating requirements on pvp gear?

Right now, you know what content people are doing in Wrath and is super successful? Standing semi-afk in AVs and grinding honor gear. The truth is players like CHILL EASY content.

I do fear a bit for Dragonflight because almost all the new talent trees increase the difficulty required to play each spec. So if they do not significantly reduce difficulty in raids we will have a problem.

Isn’t that boring though? I mean what would be the point of a fight if it were like that?

If they’re AFK then they do not like doing the content. They just do it for the gear.

  1. Each of their own. I play on retail and dont fell stressed at all. Was his choice to play in top end-guild(s). Noone forced him to do it.

  2. If he wish to play with a decade old xpac, then its up to him.

I don’t think “chill easy” is the actual criteria.

I mean BFA had warfronts which are as chill easy as you can get and most people to my knowledge hated it.

“Fun” is the actual criteria, and altho it’s subjective, Blizzard kinda lost their ability to make things that most people would find fun.

There’s a harsh truth in OP’s word but raids have always been an arduous endeavour. I mean, how is it fun to wipe 20-50 times on a boss?

But the irony here, something that we all said a while ago, is the time and effort invested into raiding is much higher compared to mythic dungeons while the rewards in mythic dungeons are higher than from raiding.

Look, normal fated raid gives items of 285 ilvl. At the same, M+7 also provides same ilvl.

The difficulty of either can’t be comparable. One is cracking walnuts with your teeth, another is peeling the orange. And the selection is higher in m+.

Therefore I have a question: why is Blizzard wasting time and resources on something that is clearly becoming an optional pastime?

  1. Raids on mythic lvl give better loots than m+ (last bosses). Also sometimes with op items. Like this xpac the legendary bow, and the 2 handed mace. If you only m+, you can never get these items. Also you can get max ilvl faster, meanwhile m+ vault only offer 3 choice each week, to take just 1 item. If by chance each week you can get a slot with max ilvl, it would take 16 weeks to get max ilvl gear (15 if you use 2 handed weapon).

  2. Its up to the guilds how much time they spend on raids. Because the top 0.1% stress over who clear a raid first, the rest of the guilds can go on their own space. The top guilds made themself this rwf stuff. Its a player-made “problem”, thus players who “affected” by this, should handle it aswell.

the Main problem is limit Maximum its just 1 person making all the fuss and problems , scrype never cared about RWF getting big he only cared about getting the 1st kill , but max was the one making it open and commercializing it , giving blizzard ideas about loots and what not , he is officially the 2nd Towellie except towellie was never a problem cause he never cared about the degen stuff , but he does and blizzard listens to him verrry clearly . the dude is the number 1 problem for the game and blizzard dosnt see it not only they dont see it but they think hes putting them on the right path . this game will die we always said it . its just a matter of time now . today i opened up LFG and once i blocked all the advertising LFGS i was left with 5 groups doing Fated SOF all 3 difficulties combined .

Except blizz is doing exactly everything to make the life of a RWF-player miserable. If anything blizzard is listening and doing the exact opposite.

explain that to me , cause so far none of what you said made any sense . blizz keeps carrying favors for RWF a brand new one is master loot coming back . only for them ofc they will never admit but we all know why
