Hey all, I currently main a priest on alliance side but stopped shortly before AQ40 because my lovely guild sort of fell apart and I was feeling a bit saddened.
I went hard with Shadowlands at the start and while I think it’s probably the best iteration of retail in a long while it just didn’t “catch” me in the way that I would have liked.
I know that I want to play a hunter in TBC, but I am not sure if I should roll Horde or Alliance.
I was initially thinking I would make an Orc Hunter, as that was my main from wrath and beyond (I played in vanilla and TBH, but mostly on a Dwarf priest) but when I started making a pros and cons list the only major thing swinging me one way or the other was PvP queues.
I’m mainly a PvE focused player but I know that PvP is a fun aspect of TBC. Would I be making a mistake going horde if I plan to PvP at all going forward?
Also, if anyone has any horde server recommendations for a fresh start I’d welcome them, I’m currently leaning towards Razorgore.
Tough call. For PvE purposes I would probably advise to play a troll hunter for the racials and personally I like the animations of both male and female troll hunters. However, battleground queues are a pain. It’s the one reason I’m considering switching factions
I realize you’re looking to play at a PvP server, but for what it’s worth my input regarding PvE servers: Horde PvE realms’ population (Nethergarde Keep is my realm) is kind of low but level 60 dungeons are okay-ish to find a group. Also enough raid pugs each week to participate in.
In its current iteration, you should go Horde for basically any class option in TBC.
In its original, unaffected state, the Horde vastly outperforms the Alliance in almost any category.
I certainly do hope that Blizzard forgoes a ‘no changes’ policy and rebalances TBC, but for right now, Horde is the way if your main focus is gameplay and performance focus. Alliance is only an option if you prefer the looks/for RP reasons.
