At least make "Bolstering" Dispellable

this affix is miles ahead of every affix in the game by being annoying and anti-fun

why has this not been addressed in shadowlands ?

goodness gracious

How to fix Bolstering (pick at least one):

  1. Make it magic dispelable
  2. Give it duration
  3. Make it so killing bolstered mob transfers stacks onto players for short duration (~10 seconds)

Agreed.

Oh look, every pack with high and low health pool mobs now becomes a complete PITA where its just one meme beam away from a failed run.

MAKE THE CHALLENGE DISPELLABLE

In a word: No.
The whole point of affixes is to have you adapt and overcome, not cry yourself a river to float a boat down past it.

Then why is raging dispellable?

Why are magic debuffs that hurt players dispellable? We should just overcome!

or, just take the off-meta class called priest!

oh wait most important adds are immune to mc nvm

WHY ARE THESE APPLES AND ORANGES NOT COMPARABLE?!
Because it was designed to be and soothe has a relatively long cd for a dispell? Where as a large pack can be mass dispelled.

Soothe dispel is 2? seconds longer than dispel. Make it so they can’t be mass dispelled.

There fixed. Much hard.

Also; Enrage is a buff players can have, so is dispellable as a result.
Players cannot be bolstered.

Can i purge them? :sunglasses:

Yeah make it magic dispellable… laughs in arcane torrent. :smirk:

Exactly, it would be perfect. Priests and shamans with offensive dispels would be loved, though it would kinda make it a complete non-affix.

It would also kill off alliance for M+ as everyone and their cousin’s dog rerolls into horde BE… :))

Except that Bolstering isn’t really a challenge, it’s just not fun, imo.

I mean what exactly is the challenge in Bolstering? Needing to root that one mob or sheep or sap or cage or whatever?

The thing with Bolstering is, in some dungeons, see Siege of Boralus, it’s just miserable to play.

In some dungeons it’s a joke, namely where mobs all have the same hp or at least relatively the same, such as Underrot, where in others it’s just incredibly unfun to play.

The idea behind bolstering is “kill all the mobs at relatively the same time”. It sadly translates into “some mobgroups are mandatory skips this week”.

Some classes, or even races, have easier times with affixes, that’s why during necrotic weeks, dwarves shine. That’s why Ring of Peace is so invaluable in sanguine weeks. That’s why even a guardian druid gets a spot during raging weeks.

Why not have one affix that priest shines with? By Yogg, they’re far from being an overpicked class for m+, no matter the spec.

Just like everybody rerolled into nightelf or dwarf?

We’re talking about factions here… and nightelf is 2nd to humans.
Blood Elves are 1st race most played on Horde and Horde is better played than Alliance.
Combine the best race with the best faction also having this kinda advantage… not hard to speculate.

I mean sure, it may not be hard for you to speculate, but it’s wrong. Nightelf has proven to be by far the most powerful for m+. Dwarf and Dark Iron Dwarves are insane for necrotic tanks, insane enough to be even considered a bad joke. People aren’t rerolling solely for m+, not yet anyway. And not in the numbers you believe they would.

But you keep on speculating, just don’t invest money due to your speculations, that may bite you back.

Bolstering isnt fun, similar to grievous, necrotic and quaking and probably some others. There is a difference between something being a fun challenge and something just being unfun BS difficulty.

Bolstering = oh killed something at the wrong time, TIME TO SPEND SEVERAL MINUTES HITTING ONE NORMAL ENEMY WITH FAR TOO MUCH HP!

Grievous = Disc priest? Hahahaha, how cute, screw you here’s people with no health and no enemy to hit for atonement heal, heal them all up while they have a growing dot on them because you can’t heal them fast enough.

Necrotic: The tank past a certain point if against enemies they simply can’t get away from for long enough and have used all cooldowns can only say “guess I’ll die”

Quaking: Just annoying interrupt mechanic which is really obnoxious, not as bad at the others as far as difficulty goes, but one of the most obnoxious ones as a healer when you just want to bloody revive someone or heal people back up only to see the stupid circle forming and knowing you can’t do anything for while.

Well how are the stats for high m+ then? Are they dominated by Night elves and Dwarves?
Or are they statistically ignorable?

Yes because everybody and their cousin’s dog is a serious statement.

I assume you think it wouldn’t be another nail in the coffin for alliance then? Specifically a Horde race basically ignoring an affix.

The point of bolstering is to stop you from mass pulling and to punish you for pulling by mistake. As such, these “fixes” would make the affix irrelevant.

Bolstering in SL won’t be too much of a problem due to aoe caps and generally smaller pulls.

Ah yes

We would wait for 2 mins every pack just to have the racial ready

Not pick a class that can spam it or anything …

Who am i kidding … people pick a race for the 1% stat bonus
