I’m leveling up from 20-120, and so far questing has been super fast. I read that going into AV is percentage based, so it’s not good to go at 60 I guess.
Since I don’t have flying in WoD I am thinking maybe start from level 100.
I also don’t have the pvp 50% extra xp in bg herilooms, just regular ones. And I get 25% extra xp doing quests and stuff from having wm on, which I wont get in bg.
I figured since it scales everyone to 60 anyway starting from 60 is probably best xp-wise. So far its worked just fine, leveled up 4 chars so far with one more on the way.
I used to be alliance winning AV, but last I leveled in KR it was from 110-120, and we won only twice during those hours.
But thanks, will give it a go at 60 or something, maybe I’ll join as tank instead of dps as warrior depending on scaling. My lock hit people for 40% (way more with cds) or more of their hp with chaos bolts, while other complained they hit like noodles.
You stand a much better chance in the battleground if you wait until about level 80, so that you have more talents, spells/abilities and Mastery unlocked. It’s also around that level and higher when experience from dungeons are lower than before due to more experience required for each level, but also because there are fewer dungeon quests.
I got personally around level 60, leveling speed starts to pick up around that time. It gets better higher level you are. I don’t play in WM so i don’t get any extra xp from questing. I don’t have pvp trinkets, just normal heirlooms. I find leveling speed pretty good but biggest reason i do it because i like to do old AV. You have to think what you find most fun? If KR is not fun for you, just do something else! It’s a game afterall and you are supposed to enjoy your playtime.
I can only say this as Horde player, since playing Alliance is different.
Leveled this character from level 89.
Got a DH from level 103 to level 120.
Leveled a rogue from 30 to 80 currently, time to spam KR on that character.
Horde queues are around 17 minutes.
On that time I try to quest as fast as I can to get quest gear.
KR is good for leveling, but gives no Gold or gear. Yes it gives the quest weapons, you can buy gear from AV vendor, but you probably want to save all of that for when your character hits level 120.
When in KR I try to stay in the top 20 DPS.
If we lose, at least I can say: “Not my fault”.
Failing to do that means my gear is not up to date as a DPS and the last thing I want is to be a dead weight, on the team.
Top dps in KR is not very good indicator if it’s your fault. What matters is where you are and when you fight. Most matches are won thanks to people with very moderate dps, who have been taking objectives and protecting them instead of trying to get high on dps chart. No offence but had to say this because so many fights are lost because people are not where they should be but fight somewhere on middle of the field or roads.
I usually follow the pack.
They always go for objectives. It’s the Horde after all.
In AV it’s much harder to solo objectives, than WSG, AB or EoTS, because everything is guarded.
Of course in higher level the story is different, with Azerite traits, necklass and ILV above 420.
as horde you can do mercenary mode from lvl 110 in legions dalaran. then u have alliance queue (2-5min). also it seems you can do the quest for korrak twice, thanks to mercenary mode. o.o
I have levelled about 5 chars in AV. Definitely dont bother with it before 60, you get very little. If your leveling alliance, get ready for many losses.
Level 60+ is best xp wise. The thing is that alliance gets so much faster queues that even with loss each time from 60-120 on an char it will still take shorter than for an horde char of mine 60-120 with wins each time solely based on the queue times, being so much shorter for alliance. This is why i usually when an horde char finally reaches 110 i start using merc mode to queue as alliance and get all those quick and nice losses to speed up the last 10 levels. Also remember to use heirlooms upgraded to go to 120 even though the av is only to 60. Also xp potions also affect the xp per minute. And also stay after the bg techincally ends and w8 till u are auto thrown out after the 2 min countdown because the xp per min thing keeps givin out xp.
Also be aware of the ahole mages in some of the bg’s that spawn portals in the starting cave on top of the heartsone clickables or mage tables. They do this to get people thrown out of the bg and to be trumpholes.
Thanks for the tip about staying after the bg is over for easy free afk xp.
Seeing how you get 50% of a level at loss, and 100% if win, it doesn’t really feel that much of a loss to lose an AV as long as people dont zerg up and delay it.
Gonna try this out as prot warrior, that dragon roar is incredible fun. Didn’t think Blizzard would allow such fun to exist
Doesn’t work on alliance side when in 40 man bg 30 of those people are completely useless dead weight dps or worse RPing as a glorified delivery boy.
Every KR is a 2-4 hour painfully slow loss because people on our side likes to do those damn pve quests and blizzard has no brainpower to do BG that rewards you for doing actual objectives like capturing towers/gy’s.
