Atiesh. It's time to choose?

Hello, everybody. I would like to talk about the possibility to choose a modification of the legendary Atiesh staff.

The fact is that, in fact, Atiesh is a controversial item for almost every class to whom it is offered.

I play for the shadow priest and can speak for myself.
The shadow priests are not very gifted with armor in the game, because almost all the armor on the priests, as well as the legendary weapon, is rumored to give a bonus to the heal but not damage.

Maybe 15 years ago the world was different, but in today’s world we shouldn’t be hostage to stereotyped roles (you’re a priest - you have to heal), everyone should have equal opportunities to choose.

I think warlocks would not give up a staff for mages or a Druid would give up a staff for priests.

As a Shadow Priest I would be happy to use the modifications for the warlock.
Obviously, the staff will not gather so many players, and it will not have too much influence on the next content. However the choice of modifications will give many players a really good thing for themselves, which will be the memory of the classic content.

Thanks for any opinions

So you’re saying you want the warlock version of Atiesh on your priest?

People wanted to use the Mage ZG enchants on other classes: Blizzard said no. You’ll meet the same response here.

Noone is holding you hostage, these items are just designed for a spesific role per class, just like every other caster item in the game.
Not a problem with the game that you want to have a item thats designed for a healer but want it to be good for your dps spec.

Are you going to complain that the healer mace from kel’thuzad doesnt have damage as well?

Yeah, I am sure most Mages would also choose Warlock Atiesh over the Mage one. And most Warlocks would choose Mage T3 ring over the joke that is Warlock one. And every caster would choose Mage ZG enchant as mentioned above. And every melee DPS would choose the Hunter one (with general AP), while tanks would take Rogue one. Why is Mind Quickening Gem best trinket well into TBC while other classes get utter trash for their BWL trinket?
But things are as they are in Classic. Many people find it fun because it is decidedly NOT optimized in every aspect. Otherwise we’d have a working GearScore Addon

While we’re on it, can we also have tier items for DPS priests, druids, paladins, warriors?

Lol, just lol.

Well, Classic philosophy is “You’re not a hostage, if you want to play a certain role then make a class fitting said role” sadly.

It will be BiS raid DPS in TBC … The actual player using it will parse lower, but raid DPS will go up … Just sayn …

It really won’t be. Using the mage version as an example, the total stats on atiesh, including the aura, adds up to 150 spell power, 16 hit rating, 140 crit rating and some stats, while nathrezim mindblade + flametongue seal, which is available from just doing karazhan, adds up to 252 spell power, 40 crit rating and some stats, meaning they’re pretty comparable, so anything beyond that really is not worth using atiesh over.
