Auction House Bots

Since I don’t know where to put this, and Blizoo doesn’t have a specific way to report this since I don’t actually see the player, here we go.

I just randomly browsed Booty Bay AH on Razorgore EU, and noticed Unicorn Band ring X 2 for like 10 silver each on bid. So I bid on it. An hour or so later I noticed I have been outbid. No worries happens. I went back to the AH and bid again, and the value was like 11 silver or so, around 15:00 London time. However I was instantly outbid. I bid again, instantly outbid. Seemed fishy. I tried again several times, each time I was outbid instantly. Then I waited like 10 min and tried again. Again instantly outbid. I tried it over and over, until I guess the price reached the bot threshold value at which point it stopped outbiding me instantly. I wonder if Blizoo will actually try to fix this. It is quite frankly so annoying and it’s ruining the game. I know they did a massive ban wave, but we need more and more and more. Make Azeroth Great Again

Edit: I did notice a random 21 troll mage in Tanaris who, after few whispers didn’t reply, so I assume that’s the bot named Creams

You can email hacks@blizzard.com with all the relevant information and what you suspect. Would be great if people got more used to the email instead of relying on the almost fully automated right-click report function in-game. Because the only time a human checks those right-click reports, is when a punished player (the punishments are also automated) appeals the punishment thus forcing a human to review why the player was punished.

They also use the server-side statistics of abnormal amounts of reports on certain players for their banwaves, which is what led to some getting banned for habitually AFKing in BGs for example. But there’s no human manually checking each and every right-click report, that’s just their way of placating the masses and tricking you into believing the problem will be taken care of.

There are people with TSM that are basically doing nothing else for most of the day than have their sniper set up on 2nd screen and snipe auctions all day. I’m not saying you couldn’t possibly bot this somehow, I’m just saying it’s very likely that this encounter was with a legitimate player rather than a bot.

i don’t think you need bot for that, there been always an addons with Auto-bid feature and the ability to auto buy certain items if matched the condition price you setup.

I gave up on this rightclick report nonsense. there is a guy farming since 72hours doing his own pathing all day and is programmed to stop attacking if its a player target after 3 sec to not get him kited and stuck. but hey just rightclick report because it does… yes nothing.

Well I get what you are saying, I have TSM myself, but if you run a script to do everything automatically, that’s basically what botting is. If you actually do some manual input and thought sure, great. But I think this was different, over the course of an hour or so tehre is no way someone would outbid within a split second.

sadly, even if blizzard banned those who bot the AH?
you’ll still see many legitimate players staying whole day online next to the AH trying to snipe items, they call it “Play the Auction house”
