Automated kicking from Alterac Valley

Okay, I understand this is a controversial topic/practice, I fully appreciate that.

However, afaik fishing in Alterac Valley is violating zero rules whatsoever. Not only is there a multitude of pools in there that can be fished, there is also some pretty high catch rates for fish that will become a lot more useful as the game goes on.

Such as the AD turn in fish and the AQ war effort fish.

Therefore, people abusing the “Report for AFK” on players who will fish until they need to defend, or fish for the entire battleground, shouldn’t be kicked automatically when they’re simply not AFK. People shouldn’t be able to spam report people away and get them kicked because they’re not playing in the same way that they would like them to.

Now, ofcourse if this is against the rules then I’m all for it. However, as it stands I am almost entirely sure it isn’t and it would be dumb if it was considering it’s been scripted in.

Has there been any official word on this? It’s ridiculous.

Since the fish were removed from AV later in the game, no, I dont think fishing in AV was ever intended.

Look at it this way, you’re taking up a group spot and doing nothing with it. If you’re in AV and aren’t playing AV, you’re basically AFK. And yes, that should most certainly be punishable.

This fish were removed in TBC due to an overall fishing rework.

If it was against the rules why would it be a place to collect AQ War Effort fish? Why wouldn’t they have removed this and implemented the pre-patch version of AV without fish.

Turtling loses more games than a single person fishing which ultimately betters the server for EVERYONE during the AQ War Effort.

This AFK system is an avenue begging to be abused, and it is.

So long as players from both factions fish it’s acceptable in my opinion.

Also, I don’t think the argument that being able to fish there was never intended makes much sense. It’s not like whenever you create a pool of water in WoW the game automatically picks a selection of fish people can catch there, they were put in there first. And they didn’t get removed until… when actually? WotLK?

Implying Blizzard are competent even in the slightest.

it might not be against the rules and there might be fish there, but it is scummy. you are not part of the war effort to win the damn thing, no better than an afk so I don’t blame people for wanting to kick you

I wanna play the earliest versions of AV and actually experience what it was, this crap I can log in to retail for, there’s no difference. You can disagree and show me why that’s wrong according to a popular opinion, but I don’t care, that’s what I wanna play. I haven’t played a single Alterac Valley since it released, not interested in this version. Blizzard gave us a finger I gave one back at em.

To stay on topic, the whole report system should be ditched for the good of the game. For the good of their pockets, they won’t do a gosh darn thing about it.

Why would people want somebody fishing over PvPing?

Nothing’s against rules about it, but nothing against the rules for kicking you for not participating in a PvP BG.(Sorry, PvE zerg rush)

When the games lasted days nobody would care some guy was fishing in a pond, of course the Fortnite kids want 9 minute games and they have no patience they have to rank. Like Lord Towelliee said, “kids crapped themselves with the long lasting AV’s so eventually Blizzard had to do something about it”.

No way in hell we gonna get that version of wow agane, mothers will storm Blizz hq, not that they aren’t busy storming the forums each day bad mouthing the filthy orcs like me

But why would you want days old AVs.
That was so boring back then.

Even if the game did last “days” (Boring) - People would still vote kick them… the community is not the same.

Why do I want greatness?
Because it’s different from the current version, that’s enough reason for me.
I don’t care that it’s bad or boring, that’s what I want. You can have your opinion and I’ll have mine.

In which you’ll never get that AV
So there’s not much point moaning about it XD.

I know cutie pie, no point in moaning about anything at all, now go to sleep

So, from what I can see the only reason people are defending an easily abusable automated kicking system, is because they feel they’re entitled to dictate how someone plays the game.

Also, the whole defence of “it’s a BG for you to PvP, not fish” is entirely rubbish, because people also get kicked for PvPing in the middle because it doesn’t tie into the meta of a sub 10 minute game. In fact, the BG is entirely PVE based if played to the meta.

So, my point is surely I’m less of a detriment fishing than I would be turtling in the middle?

My point is there are no rules AGAINST what I am doing. Therefore, I shouldn’t be kicked from a group because a group of spergs don’t agree with how I’m playing and are entitled enough to believe I should do exactly what they want to ensure their ADD is catered to.

Perky if Asmon didn’t post that video before 4 days would you report this to EU servers ? Or are you just here to see that you have reported something clever? This has been happening for 15 years and today has not changed at retail! So stop act as smart one please !

I genuinely have no clue what you’re on about here? What video?
I’m posting because I am constantly harrassed/flamed/kicked for fishing. I thought that was pretty obvious from my text.

Next time when you get report as afk read chat ! You have everything there what need to do to “CANCEL” that ! If you are “Marked” as afk player /afk again to remove it !

Would you bring someone who’s just going to stand and craft potions to your MC raid instead of doing something useful, and give him equal chances at loot?

No, didn’t think so.

Although I see your point, I don’t think it’s the same at all.

It would be more like bringing someon to Scholomance to use the crafting table. Which happens, and there’s no issues.

No it’s not. At all.

You do literally nothing to contribute towards your team winning the game by just sitting and fishing.
