Can you share if not the link then at least the name?
Very usefull when I want to go make coffee and my m+ friend is spam applying to dungeons haha(when our premade’s tank or healer is not online)
I would 100% try a mythic queue finder, especially if it rewards shortage bags, but even without that the convenience of not having to make a group or join one is very nice.
“Play your own key” isn’t always the best solution, because you need 4 other players who are not playing their own keys. So if more players do it, you will find it harder to fill your groups. I also don’t see how this will improve my completion chance or quantity of nice people as it’s still 4 random players regardless of whose key it is, but queues also won’t solve that but I would even make it worse.
It also doesn’t solve the barrier to entry problem where you need high rating to have players apply to your group (for players who are behind in progression).
Making your own group is the best way with the group finder. It’s easy enough to do and you can select who you want in your key.
If you can’t get into groups. Just create your own
Get your key. Post your key. And accept all those low rio players. Then come back and tell us all about your experiences.
There are reasons as to why people dont want players with low rio. And yeah, it sucks that they have to catch up … but if they have the necessary skill they will eventually.
There are waiting list for LFG because there are too many people not posting their key. You would have a point in a world where there are shortages of people applying for keys.
They are not random players. They are players with some X rio, some Y ilvl… that say “hello guys” when they are invited… ect…
And if you dont like what you see you kick them out and find another-one.
sounds interesting. I will try this experiment on an alt with zero rio rating and a “non-meta” DPS spec, and see how it goes.
But the shortage DOES exist. There is a shortage of tanks and healers. Usually if you have a tank or a healer already in group, you will find the other quickly because tanks prefer to apply to groups with a healer already in group and vice versa to reduce the wait time.
And an automatic quew wont solve this. It will only make it worse.
If you want to reduce quew times, then you have to incentivize tanking and healing. And no machine can do that. Simple as that.
Try it with your main. Its gonna be even funnier. Believe me. ![]()
Agree. 100%.
Yes, but my main is already 2K rated, and is a tank.
So ? Its an even better experiment.
If you select people at random, or with low Rio, and random specs (with out considering raid buffs/utility) … you will see the “quality” of random people. These are the people that would show up to an automatic quew system.
And YOU as a tank will see the results. And choose if you want to participate in that or not.
My prediction is that you will have such a low success rate that you will simply stop doing it. And in the hypothetical case of a quew system, you disincentivize tanks and healers for that reason. Thus making the problem worse.
Which is what happened in Solo Quew, Heroic Dungeons, and LFR by the way. So I expect the same results in M+ as well.
M+ will be worse.
Heroic dungeons and LFR are designed to increase your chance to succeed. Less mechanics to deal with, monster have less hp and deal less damage, mistakes don’t one shot you, etc., and in addition you get determination and luck of the draw buffs.
I remember in cataclysm launch, heroic dungeons were tuned harder. They were same difficulty of heroic TBC dungeons unlike the much easier WOTLK heroic dungeons. TBC didn’t have dungeon queues which was introduced in late in the WOTLK expansion where most people where already geared and the dungeons were facerolled. The negative feedback about the difficulty of heroic cataclysm dungeons was overwhelming, and Blizzard had to make massive nerfs.
Blizzard learned the lesson though in further expansions, they kept heroic easy and available for queuing, and introduced challenge modes and later mythic and mythic+.
My expectation if M+ was queueable, then the same will happen again. Massive complaints about the difficulty, Blizzard will nerf M+, and introduce a new end game difficulty that’s not available for queues. I don’t think they are stupid to do that.
Correct. 100%.
I remember Cata. Like you, I was there. ![]()
So TLDR were stuck with LFG tool. Like it or not, its the best we have, and this “automatic quew” discussion should be over by now.
But apparently here are still a few that dont get it yet :
I would support solo queue up to a key level of +6, but not further.
Adding a queue won’t magically summon more healers and tanks. If you’re a DPS you’ll still sit in queue for hours on end. Nothing changes.
Oh true but right now they can “blame” the shortage of tanks&healers. If Blizz makes the system, they can blame and demand Blizzard to fix it since its their system = their responsibility = their problem… . it some people’s eyes sadly.
You get the sense that freedom is seen by some people as a great burden that must be avoided at all cost.
Don’t let me find my own group, put me in one. Doesn’t matter what’s in it as long as I didn’t make the bad group myself.

You’ll need to rework how keys work because currently you have a key holder and 4 players they invite. In an automated queue you’d have tons of people looking for others’ keys with very few key holders wanting to risk their key that way. Also you’ll have to add a score penalty of sorts for leaving and a vote to disband if the key is bricked.
That’s the easiest part. The queue would be bad because of other reasons discussed in this thread. But the issues you mentioned can be solved very easily.
you can always start recruiting on group finder by using your own key which is the fastest way regardless if you are dps or not .
you can always find likeminded people in game . but expecting everyone that they think like u is a bit exagerration . for shorter queues and more aceptance you can always learn how to tank and heal in this game .
Random mythic 0 sure anything past that probably really bad idea.
