AV queue on a weekend

1hour 52 mins queue on a weekend? Wow!

I think it is time for a mercenary NPC… Get some hordes on the ally side and try to even out that win rate

If sides were switches you wouldn’t play Alterac Valley.

Alterac Valley is broken for alliance and Blizzard don’t want to fix it, because

  1. they don’t want you to play Classic, but Shadowlands,
  2. they don’t want to invest money in Classic development,
  3. they think Classic TBC will fix/change AV, so they play the waiting game and ignore the Classic Community (like every time).

Well, the reinforcement change as a win condition and removal of pretty much all elites on the map did change AV quite a bit.

As a mercenary I would be switching. I would still queue in (on everything but my Shaman, of course)

It’s really absurd to ask for features from retail in Classic. If AV would be tweaked it has to be in the spirit if the game. Changing faction nilly willy is not in the spirit of the game.

Also the fact that we have paladins/shamans and a faction based grind based ranking system makes it even more absurd.

mercenary will just solve av ques but make the core problem even worse in the first 4 expansions. Giving the main attraction/ advantage of playing the weaker faction (alliance) to the stronger one (horde) would surely be nice for us horde players but a death sentence for allys.

i wish the could just shove no changes and fix all obvious faction issues instead of letting the same mistakes as the first time happend

Why wouldn’t they?
It’d help the issue of the slackers in AV.
All the afkers / people who give up after losing initial push.

It’s not like these people are the reason that alliance lose AV so much… and also the reason why I never touch AV anymore…
We’d form a defense line and 1/2 of the raid would just afk in the graveyard so we’d lose faster.

Alliance has a defeatist attitude and will remain that way…

So your looking at 3 hours to get in and grab a guaranteed win? Good. That’s what happens when map imbalance and turtling occurs. Now the majority have finished the rep grind and rankers won’t go near the place it’s only going to get worse from here on out.

What makes me chuckle is thinking of those poor Horde players who queued for 2 hours that end up getting in a game that’s just about to end.

You reap what you sow, enjoy the queue. What was that old chestnut Horde players used to say? “It gives me time to farm and have a break while waiting” Guess you can have an even longer break now.

^ Typical defeatist that’ll join an AV and just think they’ll lose instantly.

You mean actually playing the BG instead of just winning/losing it fast?
Which is what alliance players don’t want to happen… hence the low win rate?

This mentality is pretty much the reason why horde wins a lot of AVs compared to alliance.

It’s not defeatist when you know you can’t win due to no one in there actually giving a damn, the rankers are in WSG/AB and the leechers/PvE players are in AV. If it was better H/PH then Alliance rankers would queue, but it’s not. I do enjoy how players like to label Alliance defeatist and Horde are just the kings of PvP. Here’s the deal, pal, if the shoe was on the other foot then Horde wouldn’t try or queue either because it’s all about H/PH for rankers so they will do what is most efficient, it’s not about faction. Bad PvP ranking system makes for bad games, who’d have thought it.

That literally is a defeatist attitude… you can google what a defeatist is… and you’ll find that it describes literally that.

It was the best H/PH until we had too many afkers on the alliance side.

I’m an alliance player on classic myself, if I was to join an AV… I’m expecting to lose simply because of the attitude of the alliance towards AV.

When we have low queue times, people prefer honor per hour to wins.
Hence why horde go for wins…

I know what defeatism is. I expect to lose when I join AV as Alliance due to botters, leechers and AFKers but that doesn’t mean I don’t try. I’m not a blind optimist who after losing 95% of games for months on end will suddenly think Alliance will start winning.

As I said it’s not a question of faction it’s all down to a very poorly designed ranking system. If Horde had instant queues the simple fact is they wouldn’t defend as hard as they do and if Alliance defended with long queues then Horde would go for a fast win or give up before the game gets drawn out and they lose H/PH.

Well, yeah… Alliance gained the defeatism attitude after the horde adjusted to the alliance rush.
And has never recovered from it.

I don’t really know another solution beyond literally making half the ally team NPCs… which would actually improve performance for a few

There is no solution. Blizzard will do nothing. Faction ratio will get even worse in TBC. AV will forever be the pariah of BGs, I predict the queue will steadily increase toward TBC and then approach infinity when there will litearlly be leas than 40 alliance in the queue for the majority of non-peak hours.

If they do it like Classic for TBC, then TBC will have reinforcements. So unless the Russian tactic is used (they basically let you get mines etc., while they farm you forever in the cave), then reinforcements will put in its own timer which is much shorter on each AV.

And yes, they do that tactic with their premade exploits.

The faction balance is pretty good, no?
Atleast according to:

Alliance need a large enough incentive to start playing av again, i dont know what’s most appropriate to reach that goal.
Any change that bring back 10 min zergs without pvp is retarded though.
Double honor for av wins for Alliance?

Please just agree you are defeatist and fix your attitude, next time you go in AV never think you lose just fight every single second of it to the victory and never be defeatist anymore

Not sure how Blizzard can do anything without making a mercenary mode…
The alliance mentality with AV is that they’re expecting to lose, so it’s kinda hard XD.
