There is a new world map on DF PTR and now we know where exactly are Dragon Isles. Some other continents also moved a bit. Do you like the new map?
I personally think it looks a bit crowded and they could have kinda moved some of the smaller siland like Kul’tiras, Zandalar and Broken Isles.

It is about roughly where I expected it tbh. In the Vanilla map, there were a couple islands off that coast there which were inaccessible. Supposedly the original plan was to make the Dragon Isles a zone in the base game and that’s where it was supposed to be.
agree a bit crowded xd and idk it looks as small as I feared

Sometimes small is better…

I thought they said the Dragon Isles were going to be as big as Northrend? To me they don’t look that big, or are they adding more in later patches?
errr yes, but i wouldn’t say smaller expac map is better xd specially since i heard it would be size of northrend and it’s nowhere near

Probably the visuals on theis map are not correct to the real size. They just probably didn’t want to make them as huge on this world map

Honestly I think they should just make Kalimdor and EK much larger but keep the same map.
Even in the real world, there are very few map projections that represent continental sizes accurately, and the ones that do aren’t very useful in practice.

The size on the map doesn’t mean the zones won’t be huge. But we’ll see
I really hope so, because if the size of the zones ends up being a disappointment then it doesn’t bode well for the other stuff I’m starting to feel that bubble of hype for
i think they will be multi layers rather than spread out …
to make use of the dragon riding…
that is my guess…
but then people are actively playing the beta now so should’nt they already know?
land masses east from maelstrom are bit ‘heavy’, like tectonic drift is not symmetrical.
You have my seal of approval
The paradox of WoW is the size of the land masses aren’t the actual sizes in lore. Most of the zones east of the Maelstrom are just islands. There are possibly many more islands West we aren’t aware of yet.
There is also a whole “other side” of the planet people have speculated on. Lots of mystery there.
Kalimdor is also moved to the east. Like there is more space from Kalimdor to the edge of the map than there is space from Eastern Kingods to the edge of the map.
There might be a lot to work with even if it’s small…
i only mentioned it because i made a post about new expansions all being small. personally i like big continents with lots of zones, but still haven’t seen avtual zones so things can still be suprising
I know what you mean…I miss the times we could choose zones to level in rather than having to repeat all of them
