I am wondering to what extent will blizzard be using old scrapped projects such as zones, instances, storylines etc. As you might know the Azshara Crater was an old abandoned BG that never came to life; one of the examples to these ideas… Thoughts ? I am asking this because i am wondering about classic wow’s future, what will happen a year, two years after naxx is cleared? will blizzard expand the classic world without breaking its core? whats the deal please let me know. Before y’all weirdos out there start writing weird stuff: i am just curious of what is being planned, so inform me pls, thank you.
Lets pray a blue post will answer you.
Classic+ will never happen.
Classic+ might happen if Shadowlands happen to suck. Many of us will not play TBC.
No, you are wrong, it’s much easier for Blizzard to copy TBC than make new content, so as I said Classic+ will never happen.
If you ask me they are already making TBC, if they weren’t the latest survey would have had questions about Classic+.
Go away from this post mexican avatar xD
Lazy decisions hardly ever make good and profitable decisions. Hope they’ll remind this.
Again, Blizzard are making Classic realms for each expansion, not making new content for every old expansion.
Again, that’s what is called lazy.
It’s not lazy. It’s following the same path as they previously had done.
Right now I don’t think even Blizzard know what to do. The game is obviously waaaaaaaay more popular than they could ever imagine (again).
They’re probably hoping people will actually go back to Retail but it’s never going to happen. I will happily play a 15 year old static version of the game that never gets changed than go back to Retail.
I would prefer if they did go Classic+ route but that’s obviously not Blizzards intentions.
Would be great if players had the tools to just design the game themselves, custom servers in some form. I would just make weapon proccs and enchants scale again maybe some other interesting stuff, make mobs only vulnerable to certain types of damage and immune to others like an oldschool RPG.
That’s not how business works. It’s quite the opposite actually.
Creating new content for an old game is a risky move, potentially high reward or absolutely no reward at all.
Recreating old content that people are going to play? No risk, high reward.
Classic+ won’t happen.
Why bother making classic+, if they can just do BC realms instead?
More people will play BC over classic, once classic BC comes out.
Keep working on retail to expand the universe.
Launch TBC when it’s time.
Leave Classic as it is.
Pretty straight forward.
Or maybe that’s called giving the majority of people what they want.
Or wait, did you just assume most people want Classic+ (specifically, the version of Classic+ you have in mind)?
I do
since about 60% of the classic fanbase would appreciate such content.
Don’t be mistaken, I don’t mind if there are BC servers, for the BC base to play their favourite version. In fact it’s quite cool. (At least if they don’t change our current Classic servers in the process)
It’s just sad they miss the wave of Classic to regenerate their warcraft licence, investigating a new line from their MMORPG maybe, moreover after the failure of W:III-R and the tepid BfA.
One can find the word “lazy” improper, so let’s say, “coward”.
Or “risk-averse” for sure.
Yes that’s the point somehow.
I do have multiple versions of Classic+ in mind. Most of them would fit. Few would be underwhelming. Even fewer would be a disaster …but I see where you go - like most people you bet Blizzard would chose the worse possibility of course.
No, I just bet that a conservative Classic+, which only adds a few extra content and zones but keeps Classic PvE balance, wouldn’t be well received as most people would prefer something more akin to TBC or WotLK.
And your proof of this is…?
