Didn’t Blizzard literally say 90 crests was too much before and lowered it to 60? Now it’s back to 90 again?

You get 6 more ilvls from it, so it’s 30 more crests. Math isn’t hard.
Too much for a jump from 658-675, not too much for a jump from 658 to 681.

Except that now we get like a bizzilion crests per dungeon PLUS they are uncapped.

Hard to get on fresh alt into +12
I get that.
But what is your expectation? To make a fresh +80, craft 5 peices of 681 and be 675 in a week?
Dunno… maybe get some heroic gear first. Upgrade it a bit. Do 10s… and in 1 or 2 weeks your good to go. Then do +12s and then craft stuff to complement the gear drops.

Just a quick edit: I mention all that because the reason any fresh alt cant get into a +12 is not because of ilvl. Its because of Rio.
So either you get some buddies to boost your Rio. So you can quew on your own with out issues. Or, go through the same stupid process of timing keys 1 at a time. Which will inevitably yeild a ton of hero gear to begin with.
Maybe what is needed is to get the alt discout for the enchanted guilded thing as well.
You wouldn’t have the sparks for it, at best you can do is 2 sparks a week assuming you always pick the merit coins and buy a second spark with it.
I think the pain points are mostly from delves, it went from 2 weeks per crafted item (by how fast you can get gilded crests from it) to 3 weeks per crafted item.
Thats a 50% increase of time needed per crafted item, which is the type of increase in time that makes you start questioning is it even worth investing it? If that’s what blizzard wants delvers to ask themselves that then ey its working as intended.
It makes sense mathematically, 2 extra upgrade levels so 30 crests more needed. I just think its not worth the time investment atm if all you’re doing is delves and I think most complaints about it will likely come from delvers.
I don’t care as much personally, I intend to not engage cause it feels like a cheap way to keep people subscribed to halfway into the season add extra upgrade levels and that is my issue with it all.
If next season doesn’t come with 8/8 for hero and mythic from day one I will also not bother next season when they do so halfway in. The way it feels now I feel like the crafts I have made at ilvl 675 was gold wasted on materials that I wouldn’t have if these upgrade items were available from the start or we’d know we’d be getting them from the start, that’s my main complaint.
Otherwise 675 is good enough.

Most reasonable people don’t take “fresh alts” into a +12.
Also, did you even think - at all - before making this thread? The size of the upgrade got bigger. Logically the cost would too.

Yes that would be a tall order on a fresh alt unless you go with friends, you’d probably be better off aiming for the lower level that still awards gilded crests. I think it starts from +7. Obviously the reward rate is lower but you’d still be able to earn them and upgrade.
I thought there was some form of catch-up where you loot that from M+. That is how I have been getting all my sparks. They drop form dungeon chests.
I am going to stop catering to the Delvers. I am so sorry. I get it that solo players need their space. But its getting ridiculous at this point.
Let me just remind you of some statistics:
- Most of the guilds havent killed Gallywax yet.
- Most of the M+ players still have a lot of key levels to push through.
We find those extra ilvls usefull. They have a PURPOSE.
- Delves…
Well… Delve 11 was cleared 1 HOUR after S2 started. With 650 gear from S1. And with Brann at level 1. The big-bad boss in ?? was killed that same day.
And dont get me wrong. I get what blizzard is trying to do. But I will not entertain the expectation that Delvers somehow need Mythic level gear for anything. Their “end-game” has to be defined as a Grind.
There is no other way because there is no way of balancing out the performance of say… a BDK and a Rogue in solo content. So it has to be easy by design. So there cant be infinite levels of Delves with out creating some absurdly degenerate situations.
So yeah… Delvers take 3 weeks. And they should be happy and celebrating that they can acheive Mythic level gear by killing 10 Durotar Boars.

im almost done on upgrading all my gear
ive ran about 15-17 + 10 keys

Yes there has always been catch up for sparks so that new alts are not penalised and can’t craft. They drop from various content.
That’s what I thought.
Because so far… I havent done a single weekly quest. In fact, I havent even started the campaign questline of Undermine. I havent even stepped foot on Undermine and it dosent even show in my map.
But I have been getting my sparks.

I find the issue is even with the Gilded of the Undermine achievement you don’t get a discount on crafted gear…why? The 30% should apply to alt enchanted crests and alt gilded augmentation matrix IF you have the achievement.
The cost to craft 6 pieces is 540 crests. Just seems kind of ridiculous if you want to play other characters and you don’t live on this game.
The change would bring the cost from 540 to 360.

Didn’t S1 reach 639 at best, with Cyrce’s Circlet being the only item reaching 658?

True true. 630 ilvl. 
Even worse. Cause were all gonna be 680 now. And 50 ilvl is huge. So I wonder if people cleared delve 11 with 630, how much faster can they do it now…

We skipped the last phase of mythic gallywix this week, we’re not even close to full power either.
And for the record, I totally agree with what blizzard does for the past 20 years with respect to raids.
Nax40 was such a flop that I am glad that they are not even trying to attempt the same BS again.
Did’t they lower the crest cost down to 45 last time late in season 1 then upped it again early season 1, why not lower it back to 45 and make the +6 cost +15 crest and just get rid of the +3 upg crest why would you ever upgrade by +3 anyway only to upgrade to +6 later ? why not do it in one go ?

You still needed to farm the crests 2 weeks ago, so just go farm the crests.
