I was kicked from a plaguefall because the group wanted to skip all bosses instead of doing them, and i signed up for the random group finder to find a group to do it, so I could complete the covenant calling. It’s an extremely user unfriendly design that you can get kicked by a group, because the ones you end up with only want to do a skip run to last two bosses and then I GET PUNISHED by not being able to sign up for groups for 30 minutes. This is by far the worst, as I’m getting punished for them not doing the dungeon as it’s supposed to be done.
You live on a democracy.
If 3 of 5 want do it, or you do or you leave.
Totally agree. If you’re kicked from a group early on you shouldnt get the deserter debuff.
Dungeons are a group activity, sometimes the majority will want to do something you don’t or vice versa.
I tend to ask if we are skipping or killing when I load into the dungeon, this saves on any confusion and I just go with the flow. It is better to complete a dungeon and have done two less bosses and then queue up again than it is to be removed and face a deserter buff.
Honestly I’d of just ninja pulled whatever you needed while they were mid pull clearing some of the “skip trash” if you needed a weekly to do. Most people won’t care for you, so why should you give them any respect either.
Blizzard could be the better man even and patch out these stupid skips all together tbh.
I did tell them i needed the bosses. IM 225, so i could blast them, but they just ignored me and kicked me from the dungeon.
Yes, and If i leave im punished for playing the game the way it’s meant to be played. I can’t do anything for 30 mins because of bad game design that these skips exist, and bad player community that they can’t spend 3 mins extra on bosses.
And you could do your quest on 2 dungeons instead of 1.
You could just do that instead of wasting 3 minutes or every person in the group.
This is a big lie else the skip wouldn’t exist.
Just cause you think it should be played like that doesn’t mean Blizzard wants it else the skip wouldn’t exist.
You could just run with them, do the instance, and one or two WQ-s or chests and you are done.
To be fair…the skip is probably there un-intentional. From an MDI/M+ stand point alot of the original skips were patched out /had mobs put there and in competitive formats you can’t skip bosses, so I definitely think its a case of the boss isn’t meant to be skipped, they just gave a more open spaced dungeon instead of giving players the theatre of pain treatment, again.
Nop, there is a mount called a smile serpent where you need to kill the last 2 bosses. The skip is intended to be there.
Its a secret…people weren’t meant to know what to do for the mount, the point of the mount is your meant to solo the last 2 bosses. You don’t need any skips for the last 2 bosses, thats a side feature, they aren’t going to design a whole dungeon around a mount The initial skips have nothing to do with it cause you realistically can’t skip anything without stealth anyway other than the trash at the start by going through the middle but that has nothing to do with the last 2 bosses.
Last expansions had always skips too.
Like freehold where you can jump to last boss.
Shrine of the Storms you can just to last 2 bosss.
Blame Blizzard for putting in intentional skips. No matter what the method, many people are always going to look to shortcut dungeon runs where possible.
If you want to do the calling, you really should sign for specific dungeon, and Theatre of Pain, where bosses aren’t normally skipped.
Majority wins in a pug. Why should one person be able to enforce their will upon 4 others if they do not wish to do something one particular way or the other?
Pretty sure it is intentional. There have been skips in the past (hi Freehold, Underrot, just to name two from a recent expansion), and if Blizzard wants a boss to be unskippable, they’ll make it unskippable.
So, you’re saying that because I don’t want to skip clear, that I should be punished with a 30 min dungeon queue lockout? How in any reasonable way does that make sense. How is that not bad game design
If 4 others do want to skip, and you refuse to go along, then yes, you should be facing the consequences.
I very disagree. I think it’s horrible game design, that others in a RANDOM group finder can get me punished for not wanting to do the same thing as them. I’m fine if they kicked me, but in no way should I face any consequence other than a kick. I should not get locked out of dungeons for not wanting to do their skip route when it wasn’t what I queued up for the dungeon for
But there is no skips between first to second boss without stealth anyway, I would know. I’ve done it as a tank for the stupid “secret mount” . I’m very certain it was a case of just design of the instance, since the dungeons are very likely made with MDI in mind for trash pack skips, not boss skips.
The lay out of freehold is the only realistic exception of the ones listed where a skip in a dungeon would matter, the 3 pirates is tough on tyrannical without BL. Doing any other boss instead of them or just wading through trash to clear the way to the 3rd or 4th boss would be more ideal than doing the second boss without BL.
People need to get off their high horses and actually start being a part of the community and help people do their quests cause they would expect the exact same treatment, no? its normal dungeons or heroic at best. You’re going to lose 1-2 minutes per boss or w/e it is the quest requires.
It’s all normal. Looks like you still haven’t seen the kick with the explanation: for fun
