I got banned last week for 8 days with the reason: AFK in BG.
I was R13 at 34% in solo grind which represents a total of maybe 30 hours in AV / week.
Please note that some solo AV games can last up to 40 minutes depending on the skill of certain players.
During 40-minute games, it is possible to have to AFK whether it is to: Go to the toilet, get a drink, pick up the phone, open a door, etc.
Out of a total of 30 hours of play, this equates to a total of perhaps 30 min / 1 hour of AFK / week.
My question is the following: On what basis does Blizzard assess the sanction? What are their tools for banishing abuse (automatic walking into a wall as desired VS automatic walking into a wall because you are in the toilet)
The simple fact of being stationary in AV outside an objective (Tower / Cemetery) or outside the bus which rush vandar Example: PVP at mid = AFK according to blizzard?
Because what I understand is that if 20 players report you because they don’t like your face you will be automatically banned.
During my dispute request (which took 7 days to be read out of the 8 banning days, lol) a GM simply replied that I was banned for AFK.
Noooo? Really guys? Talented at blizzard! He didn’t even take the trouble to read my request and understand it in which I stipulated that I was R13 at 34% solo grinder and that over 1 week of play in AV it is possible to accumulate partial AFKs but nothing I said was read or understood. (As if it was a bot that responded to me.)
Calling Blizzard support several mental disabilities because they may not have read your ticket is not going to help your case, they’re also not going to reveal how their detection system works since you’re pondering that in your post.
If you specifically appealed they’ll look over it to see whether if it was valid or not. If you write a novel, they will not likely give you much time however. They’re not going to read how pretty your rank is to unban you for AFKing.
Its various metrics really, including player reports. About that specifically: Players called for "defending’ objectives to be penalised as AFK/non-participation and so Blizzard obliged. It was not initially done so, until after much community feedback.
In your post you also comment that you’re sometimes AFK for real life reasons, that can happen. But that also means, you were indeed AFK so the reports for AFKing were valid.
I did not post about the waiting time, however, it is true that the appeals queue is separate from the regular queue due requiring a specialist to check over it.
And a lot of issues can and will be self-solved within minutes through the automated portal. Think like mail returns, unstuck characters, item restorations, etc etc.
This is so the regular queue can remain as fast as possible for other issues not covered or requiring additional GM support.
i didnt denied it !
I’m saying that if you play 30H / Week in AV, like for today, for exemple, i’m playing since 1 PM, i was lucky i didnt had any problem IRL today but imagine i have an issue for like 5 min so i got another one in let’s say 2 - 3 days, then another one in 1 week then what? I will be banned again? it’s not fair.
Ban bot first … Not real player
Current Blizz customer service is some of the worst I have seen in any company, I would not be surprised if the cleaning department has a bigger budget than customer service.
Those where the days.
I know you admit to being afk for sort periods but like you say, there’ is some standing about involved in pvp, you might have to wee etc
Only thing for you to decide is if you think the game is still worth playing after being treated the way you where, personally I would contact paypal get a refund, but I’m a casual scrub with no real investment in the game, you might feel you are attached to your character to much to quit…maybe that’s why they don’t put much effort into customer service hmmmm
A refund based on what? The OP got the product he paid for, but also got banned due ingame actions and he agreed, Blizzard may take actions against his account including up to a permanent suspension.
Terrible customer service? He can literally pick a few issues in game, it doesnt have to be what he been through
Blizz definitely won’t give a refund, a bank transfer might but it’s more difficult.
I have had paypal refunded me in the past for wow, I just mentioned the amount of bots in game, kept it simple. He would only have to mention something similar and explain how it effects his ability to play, he would lose access to his account also though after it goes through. Paypal is excellent defense against companies like blizz.
Not many people will take this action because they lose their account which many feel personally attached too, clever blizz.
OP wonder if your next ban will be even longer better get yourself a pee jug for under your desk. an 8 day ban for semi afking seems somewhat heavy handed.
You cannot ask paypal to get a refund against another company’s customer service just because you disagree with their enforcement actions…
The point is: They received a product they paid for and this access is (temp) revoked according the contract they read and agreed. Using any other reason that is not stipulated is like defrauding them under false pretenses.
Surprised you can still post here since this is not a free forum if you did refund.
Yet it worked for me, I got all my three months subscription and boost from mentioning bots. I’m not sure if your just trying to defend blizz as a fan boy, but never mind.
Paypal works against blizzard, sorry if that upsets you, shesh
