boosting is good for mages who wanna stash gold, it will not be removed
i have not played a mage in classic but on 1.12 servers CoC kiting was superior with poor pathing scripts
If classic was a horse, I d take him to the barn with double-sawed-off.
boosting, buffs, bots, battlegrounds. Sometimes i am just dreaming about single players server who emulaters other players. That would be neat
Edit : For a while a tough that this is BLUE topic about banning bots, you know ? Ban boost for bots !
boosting make it easier for people who tired of lvling alts it will not be removed.
By boosting, you end up losing out on new players coming in anyways. My servers not locked, and new players can’t find groups for dungeons and eventually give up. Which leaves you with… No new players, so when people get bored(and they will) the playerbase will eventually shrivel up and die. Don’t think Official classic servers will ever have ‘fresh start’ servers like private servers did.
Furthermore, technically they’re not supposed to use LFG for boosting anyways. https://www.wowhead.com/bluetracker?topic=20765567152
It’s even more irritating I can’t find a good addon that lets me blacklist words since Badboy doesn’t have the addons for classic, so all I’m left to do is to report spam every single one daily.
Some forms of boosting are ok as they fit withing what you can do in the game normally without using exploits. For example a mage running DM or Stockades. The rest that use clear exploiting like the majority of ZF, BRD and ZG boosts have to go along with the people that use hacks and exploits.
(HINT: It was not intended for you to pull a full instance and stand on an object that bugs out the NPC’s so you can hop on and off as you spam rank 1 Blizzard fishing for clear casts.)
Level boosting is deffinetely an abuse of the poor designed experience system, anyone who is defending it benefit from it.
Just make less exp % in party with a high lvl. Problem solved.
Friends can boost you items in dungeons, can play with you on the same level, can spare expensive and overpowered boe’s like Staff of Jordan.
Also bugging out mobs to not being able to reach you is straight up an exploit, none of this happened on Nost or other pservers, bliz classic is basically a downgrade from pserver experience in every way, and those servers were free to play, oh, the irony!
The greater the disparity in levels the less effective it is. That’s why people get their last levels in ZG and not most of them.
Which case are we talking about? If a mob can’t find a path to you it resets. If it can and you play with it to make them go back and forth then it’s normal, although quite artificial thing to do.
If player hopped on a certain cursafe which led to reset, that sursafe should be equally reachable for an NPC, it can be easily done by allowing an NPC to move over textures if it does not find eligible path.
Mobs reset should be only possible via authentic game mechanics like aggro zone limit or player abilities like Feign Death.
exp % penalty is simply not enough, you can level via boosting from 20 to 60 cause you still get way more exp compared to same level group velocity, and thats being afk.

If mobs are resetting they can’t be killed so no exp. This isn’t used by farmer - they don’t want mobs to reset.

The more lazy people are the more it doesn’t care. It’s hard to force players to play as someone desires them to play without starting to break the game. Like Classic could have less exp from elite mobs in dungeons but if we change that then why not do other changes and after those another.
People are always going to take the easy route. Whether it’s rolling Horde, picking the FOTM class/race combination, getting boosted etc, they’ll always take the easy route.
Before Classic was launched, people was playing it to enjoy the authentic leveling where you could feel your character progress and become stronger. That’s not exactly happening now.
What people wanted was retail classic. Not the vanilla gameplay that we had back in 2005. While there were boosts there, it was nowhere close to the same extent as we have now.
