That’s the thing when it came out I grinded them a bit but quickly got bored of this Diablo 3 crap (just like Diablo 3 itself).

Not only you have the issue I mentioned but damn, I just don’t understand how folks have fun grinding the same dungeons season after season it’s really awful. At least long ago you had a dozen of dungeons to have some variety… now not so much which adds to the boredom.

Yes some people may like it but it’s a system that was designed for ARPG where you grind until you vomit, not a MMORPG.

Then again some people played WOD from start to finish, so Blizzard know they can get away with stunts like asking Diablo designers advise for their game (which is insane to me tbh).

Usurped how? Its the only tool people got to filter out applicants. So the key doesn’t go sideways the moment its inserted.

Like I and 50 other people already have told you. Give me the excuse on how exactly “that big bad rio” is stopping you from creating your own party?
You can create a party and invite every random internet Joe you want. Give them your “chances”…

Edit: Punyelf don’t bother to waste your effort much. A lot of people have already tried. The guy is fanatically devoted to the rio-hatred and won’t back down even if the Pope himself says that rio is good.

Dont bother. You wont get any real answer.

His copy / paste answer is: community is completely toxic and ruined because of rio.

No other “facts” or true answers are given. He has been ignoring the major of my last posts because i simply asked the question over and over.

He cant answer, so ignores the poster and spams some more about how the community is bottom of the barrel and is ruined.

That last part made me think of Stewie in Family guy. This whole game is ru-ined. Anyway think we just have to mass report him for spamming or trolling at this point.

Or is that mean and toxic? Because i didnt see any real facts or arguments why rio is bad.

Every statisician would knoow these.

I’ve had a lot of people with 2500 or 3k IO be completely terrible while I’ve had people with 1500 IO be very decent. IO isn’t accurate.

Guys, I think you broke poor pretorian… his arguments are going down to kindergarden level “You are cryingggg lalalalalalalala”… be merciful, will you?

Praetorian actually has a point.

People will always go for what’s easy, we all know this, right?

So, what RIO does is gives them that easiness - easiness to reject.

Is that rejection objective? Of course, not. It is not. There are too many scenarios in which rating does not reflect performance. And if you are saying that in your experience it does reflect performance, remember that your experience is heavily skewed by the reality of everyone accepting the add-on.

And no, it’s not that everyone accepts the add-on because it works. The sequence is completely different - everyone accepts the add-on because they are going for what’s easy - and then the reality is shaped by the existence of the add-on, it works for some and doesn’t work for others, those who it works for proclaim that it works and for some reason think that this is objective, those who it doesn’t work for say that it doesn’t work and get called names on the forum and quit, that’s all that happens.

So, the presence of the add-on harms some people and helps others. The number of people helped is perhaps significant, but the number of people harmed is huge as well, just in case. OK.

What should be Blizzard’s position on something that helps some and harms others, in significant numbers? Why, they should be working on reducing harm. Because people should have fun and a huge number of people cannot have fun, because of a third-party add-on that happens to play into people’s weakness of going for what’s easy. That some people are helped by the add-on does not matter. It’s as if the game had a racial that would allow a particular race to insta-kill others once an hour or otherwise bully them - these people would be having their fun, but Blizzard would have to fix the racial because of the harm to other people. It’s the same with RIO.

Blizzard should stop publishing the data on mythic runs in the armory. Perhaps they should just revisit the concept of interaction with the armory and make all such interactions private.

If Blizzard then want to have a personal rating for mythic+, they should do their own version and add means to make sure that everyone is still having fun. Why do you think your MMR in games is typically hidden? To make sure that people can have fun. Yes, included by preventing rejections based on that rating.

So, Praetorian is actually right on this.

Now, that said, we live in the reality we live and in this reality Blizzard are not really all that capable, they write less and less things and the things they write aren’t terribly smart or creative. So they probably will do nothing. This means that we are going to be stuck with RIO. And maybe it makes sense to accept it rather than trying to fight an uphill battle.

Why can people not have fun? Everyone has raiderio without even using the addon themselves. When they do not apply for keys above their level, basically asking for a boost, then they also get invited. Rio works for everyone. And everyone can also just use their own key and join (M+) communities.

We talk challenging content here, with a system that provides only 1 attempt. If you want to get higher you can not just invite anyone. We can make examples about people with 2500-3000 rio being terrible and 1500 being fantastic, but on average that is not the case. (I also looked more at specific dungeon information and the total score when i was pugging a lot.)

Not having to install the add-on is not the point, the harm is in getting rejected too fast based on a criteria that is too simplistic.

You don’t see the real average, you see the average of the reality shaped by the existence of the add-on. If the rating and the add-on wasn’t there, the reality would have been different.

Simplistic? No experience is no invite. Then it is for keystone holders less risk to take someone WITH experience. And especially for dps there are tons and tons of players, but also on the healing department is a lot of ‘competition’.

I play weekly multiple times with people on +14-15. I definitely see the difference. We have to explain everything when we bring those keys to ~+18 levels. (or even +20 this week on 2 occasions)

Yes, that’s simplistic. Experience on that char in that season, in practice also an average across all instances, with all runs being shaped by that version of the perceived “experience” as well, snowballing discrepancies between the reality and the picture of reality painted by the add-on. You don’t see it, but what the add-on is measuring is just some version of “experience”. Pretending that it is somehow end-all is a little silly, it’s just one random version out of multiple possible.

I wouldnt even invite myself on a neltharions lair +15 right now. Even with an unlimited list of timed +15 to +20s. But that is 2 years ago.

Rio by they way shown main rio-scores. So an alt is not that much hurted.

You don’t read what I write. You are seeing the reality shaped by the add-on.

You dont listen to my experiences :man_shrugging: My community is also RIO- free.
