I always wonder, when I see threads like these pop up, if it is indeed the addon is the sole responsible reason for these declines.
I think that more often than not it is not the addon, or the score associated to it, is the reason for a decline, but rather it is the itemlevel of the individual or the class itself. Some classes have a very bad reputation created around them by the community, which the current ‘meta’ setup does not help on either.
Another issue is who are joining these sort of keys. Those who only do dungeons for their weekly generally ignore keys below 9, as well as those who push above 11. This severely reduces the player pool in keys below 8, leaving it teeming with players of lesser skill. I think this might be the reason why the addon gaining prominance in lower keys these days.
If your itemlevel is low, and have no score to speak of it will be hard to get into keys, but even with a higher score it is not likely people will take you to keys. Most world quests give you rewards between 395 and 415, and thus the community set the bar of entry to 415 atleast. That is not the fault of the addon, merely the fault of gear being so easily attainable (if you do the relevant content for it of course.)
Simply banning the addon will not help on the issue.

RIO addon is the best thing that has happened to retail wow in a long time. Its so nice we can weed out casuals from our elite groups.

Yup, same boat here on this char.
Some mad people ask for 420+ i lvl for a +2 or 500+ rio point.
I tanked +4 on my 390 geared tank, and I died only once cos a mispull made.
I understand, that on high keys +11 and up , something must be used to get some info from players. But at +10 keys and below, seriously, its just mongolid IQ lvl.
But the main issue i believe is the basic sense that a PuG is a noob, a first timer, a pleb, who someone mentally broken and ect.
And if by chance something can measure him, example with “points”, he updated to “someone who is better than the averege noob” or other titles given…
Maybe one day this mentally change and the game will be a bit better on that side…
If it’s mongoloid IQ lvl, why are your m+ runs at ilvl415 at +5 and not +10 at least? Yeah.
It’s not like that. A lot of people like to say “it’s only +7” to sound elite or whatever and then they wipe and party breaks apart… Happens even with people rated 1k+ doing super low keys like +7 so it’s understandable you want at least some assurance you will not waste your time and downgrade your key no matter what lvl it is.
People just need to learn to play if they want to play more difficult content such as M+ and that’s it.
So stop whining and go practice instead, rio score will come along the way.
I run +5 at ilvl 415 cos you need a certain lvl gear to get +10, same goes for ANY CONTENT and I completly fine with that, and i think i lvl 430 gear is perfectly fine for it.
But thx for rio , even 430 i lvl dont get invite, cos a random system pre-judge them.

I run +7 at ilvl406 on my DK tank alt who just dinged a week ago or something., +5 I ran at ilvl395 or smt, so no it’s not about your ilvl.
How is it random? It doesn’t randomly put score for characters does it? What it does is tracks your timed/non-timed M+ runs (and additionally your role performance) and generates RIO score based on that. It’s pretty damn fair actually. Nothing random about it.
Then what is this you are posting if not whining? Mate, just go practice, you’ll get the score sooner or later.

The difference in difficulty between +10 and +11 is less than the difference in difficulty between +9 and +10. +10 introduces the three emissaries, which changes the approach to a dungeon a bit.
If you sign up and there’s that DH 440 with higher score I will invite DH (if he’s also not from Kazzak).

I don’t have the addon because I basically never pug. I always go with people that I know. Do I get a score anyway or is it just 0?
RIO means Raider.IO not random (.IO being the domain extension of the website)
You are right, mybad. Today Raider .io tomorrow something else (or at next xpac lal).

On what basis? What’s my score? Can people see it?
The website use your armory, so you get score, the addon is only for inside the game, to show the points.
