Banned for 181 days!? please help me!

Hi there ,

i got banned for a whopping 181 days!!

first i want to say i played WoW since the first year of launch , after the lich king me and my buddy’s quitted. now we started WoW classic again and we are fully enjoying it making characters /vleveling together , till last week. i got banned for 181 day and blizzard is telling me i used 3th party software.

the only thing i can think of is using Teamviewer , one weekend i was in a 50min wait time for AV (yes im horde) and i was baking bread with my kids. to not miss te AV start i used my work laptop to teamview the game so i wouldn’t miss it.

i tried everything with blizzard to get this fixed , i made tickets / called them and the only thing i get is :

Hello John, this is Game Master Ryarmorthel, with the reply of the Security Department. Following a review of your case, we can confirm that the evidence presented was correct and that the subsequent action taken was appropriate. Your penalty will expire on the 19th of August 2020, during the day.

and :

Hey John, I reviewed this and see the penalty being placed on the account due to use of third party software. If you are unaware of anything you’ll definitely want to secure your account and clean your computer. But as previously mentioned this is something that has been reviewed and confirmed - We have no way of lessening or removing the penalty.

i Never!! cheated or did anything knowing it wasn’t allowed . the day i dinged 60 with my rogue and bought my epic mount they banned me … also we just did our first BWL raid and with me Resto druid i was a big part of my friends/guilds cor raiders.

i dont know what else to do now… i wanne fight this but i dont know how… please help me!! (Warbrain / Kranox / Seleena - Noggenfogger)

That would be the reason. I have had friends getting banned for this in retail also.
There has also been reports of people that use steamlink also getting banned.

Terms of use:
Using third-party programs to automate any facet of the game, exploiting bugs, or engaging in any activity that grants an unfair advantage is considered cheating.

Teamviewer is just a remote desktop software yes? It doesn’t automate anything or give you an advantage.

Doesn’t sound like Teamviewer should cause a ban.

Problem with Blizzard’s useless customer service dept is that they never give you anything specific so you cant hold them to account. They never tell you what “”"“evidence”""" they have to ban you.

that’s the part eating me , not knowing what i did wrong … i mean comon im a 36y old dad that enjoys every aspect of the game to unload from a hard days work … why the f00k would i cheese this.

Anything that launches the client outside of blizz’s portal gets flagged. It’s how they catch power leveling / account sharing / paid boosting…

If you run an emulator to make multiple screens appear in one… like make a single monitor have two halves it can also trigger it.

I know of one guy who played with two monitors and two accounts. One was max level where he used que for stuff and then had a leveling account / bank alt that he would play on while in que… one day his second monitor broke, downloaded a screen emulator to play one screen layered on the other so he could have both open at the same time… got flagged. Got hit. Got a 3month ban.

well i do have a HDMI cable from my graphic’s card to my bedroom screen and a wireless mouse/keyboard to play from the bed. but this should not couse anything.

You used a program that, if it was allowed, could be used to hide botting. There is no way for blizzard to tell if you were also botting. That’s why it has to be banned. It’s comparable to masking agents in sports, it doesn’t cause much advantage/harm by itself, but it simply cannot be allowed to be used.

The written rules may not be very clear on the matter, but blizzard’s policy on the matter have been well know for a while now.

that doesn’t mean they have to punish a hard working guy that had been playing blizzard games for over 25 years that hard , they can see all the other games i played and they can also see i never even tried to cheat any other game…

also while using that teamviewer that saturday … what rel advantage would it have given me!!! the second i got into the bg/av i moved to my pc to play it … it wass al about getting the healing offhand and the cheaper mount… take that away for all i care… its not that i used viewer every night for a week to gain the exalted FW … just 1 day to enjoy family life more instead f sitting in a que for 40 - 50 min

That’s what anyone using it for actual cheating would say aswell, so yes they have to.

The extra hardware wouldn’t affect anything unless it was a programmable mouse/keyboard with the ability to perform macros outside of the client…

what if you use a Nostromo keypad from razer? it has its own software , but iv used a speedpad since day one in vanilla? … the reason im asking this is becouse i wanne have a general idea what i did ““wrong””… they wont tell me

This is the reason, if you play with teamviewer they consider it to be cheating.

If you use it to click abilities instead of you physically hitting your keys, yes it can get you banned.

Teamviewer would be an instant red flag for blizzard. That is 100% the reason.

k , thx for confirming . just wish i had a way of fixing it . couse i still think i got punished way to hard.

they dont care about any individual case.
Nobody ever cares, in your case that just sucks.

I would do one of 2 tings.
1 never ever play and pay Blizzard anyting again (i for instance im done with EA after there dirty fifa ultimate team schemes)
2 just open a new account and make a new char which gets you faster back on track then waiting 6 months.
