Don’t get me wrong I am so so mad being in a 20k queue to get back in the game after getting randomly disconnected. But banning people for “afk jumping/running” in the game? No. If you use this logic it would be also fair to apply a button to the queue that you have to click every 30 minutes to stay in the queue, in the real world you can’t just leave a queue in let’s say a post office either, can you? You can’t blame people for this AT ALL. This is the Blizzard problem to solve. How though? I don’t really know. Maybe a unannounced server restart every 3-5 hours to clear everything up with a spot for people that were playing already (the afk people won’t get in because they are afk right?).
Try reporting them but I’m not sure it’s bannable if they’re using a keyboard macro or something more home-made and homer style.
Do you even read?
solving the queue problem will solve the afk jump problem
Ouch. Do you even write?
Good thing they are making ques shorter
Except for the 8 hour queue on Shazzrah lol
Atleast witht he disconnect waves we got in sooner
@frostywind I will believe that when I see it
I just jumped around 1000k ppl on Gehennas so that’s a good one. At least they are doing sth.
If I remember correct they used to solve this back in the day by trying to write to the person that was reported and seems to be jump scriping. If they don’t reply back, they get kicked off the server/banned/or whatever. No clue how their Game Masters are doing stuff nowadays, or if they even have any anymore.
Said it before, will say it again:
Treat the cause, not the symptom.
Solve the queue problem and all these AFK jumpers will also go away because they won’t have to worry about waiting in the utterly ridiculous queues.
Those using 3rd party programs to simulate player activity should be perma-banned and those sleeping on their keyboards can stay.
Making the distinction is the hard part… I wonder if we got the classic warden too… #nochanges
to be honest i would afk i jump if it means dodging the server queues. ive lost a day + half due to queue times. i doubt this is the issue, issue is we need more servers.
The problem isn’t the players fault. They’re doing everything they can to keep playing a game they PAID for. Totally understandable.
But in a real life queue you would be to whip out your phone to play diablo immortal while you wait… or more sensibly, use that phone to stay in that queue, while you queue at the post office…?
Perhaps, but they are adding to the problem. Occupying a player slot without actually playing while thousands are in queue that do want to play.
The Anti Afk people who are ingame afking are a result of the Queue Problem and because of the queue problem the A-Afk problem increases the Queue problem. Don’t punish people for thinking out of the box to fix the issue that Blizzard hasn’t fixed yet, But is working on it.
AFK jumpers arent adding to the problem. They are the result of the problem. When bad stuff happens, people adapt, in any way they can.
Understandable? Maybe. Acceptable? No. We are all paying to play this game. Why should some people be entitled to take up limited space while being AFK?
In another thread, someone likened the situation to ‘would you punish a starving man if he stole bread?’. The answer is yes because every person is starving, not just them.
Realistically, the people defending this stance can only be those already exploiting.
I don’t see the issue here, those people waited their time to log in, its kind of obvious they dont want to requeue for hours because they had dinner
