WoW Classic is finally here and we are all able to enjoy it in it’s glory!
Some say Classic is for hardcore players but I (as someone between hardcore and casual) think it is for everyone! ^.^
I think it’s important to mention that you can play any game casually if you wish, just ignore elitists and “pro gamers” and don’t forget, just because you play casually it won’t entitle you for “getting carried” by others, so don’t be a burden on other players, don’t ask them to carry you in dungeons and raids since you choose to play casually you have to accept that you will not have the best gear, etc in game because you do NOT deserve it, that has to be earned. Casual players who play the game and understand what their casual play style means are totally fine, casual players who want to get everything like those who worked really hard for it are the problem in MMORPGs.
Also as a casual player you have to understand that some content was meant for more dedicated players and it shall NOT get nerfed to your casual level!
Don’t ruin the fun for those who like harder content just because you don’t like it, when you play an MMORPG you do NOT have to complete everything and if you want to complete everything then you have to accept that you will need to WORK hard for it like everyone else, no game shall be nerfed for low skill players level it totally brakes the whole idea of “let everyone have fun and find something in this big online world they can enjoy” formula!
Trust me I’m no elitist that is for sure, I will never have BiS gear from Raids, because even tho I have a lot of time to play, I can not adjust my time to match others so it is way too random for me to be able to go to Raids!
I will have gear from the Auction House and thats it.
People need to accept how games work instead of trying to get games work the way they want them to.
(We can all see where that leads with current WoW, that is the whole point of Classic, the reason people wanted it because it is as it is!)
When you watch a movie or read a book, you eighter like it or not, a normal person won’t write to the makers/writers/developers of the movie or book and ask them to change it to his/her PERSONAL liking! lol
Players should really understand that MMORPGs are the way they are for a reason, for everyone to find something they like and enjoy! ^.^
That is the only way everyone can have fun together, otherwise only a few people would enjoy it.
I don’t understand why you felt this needed to be emphasized. I mean, Classic won’t be changed into retail so you don’t need to worry about that, and if people are alright with boosting a friend or guildie or having them along just for the fun of it, why is that a problem?
Up till then, I’d assume most if not all casual players are quite realistic about how far they’ll get and how much they can achieve with the time they have.
Hate to break it to you, but the base game we have right now is already extremely nerfed and very much suited to as casual players the world can deliver.
Problem is that casual players dont have content at all, 60 lvl is literaly end game, they have nothing to do.
Same content can have variable difficulty, so it can be done by both casuals and hardcore players.
And yes, I am post this and return to my sweet LFR retail
Even though i liked your post, it doesn’t mean that i’m okay with the wordings, i do get and agree with the general message you want to bring.
I get that there’s ppl who can spend a lot of time gaming, there’s a variety of reasons for that, i’m not judging.
More on topic, it has lead to a “casual Sunday afternoon” yesterday looking for groups to no avail to do some content i at least need for some drops where others with a lot more time have done that and gotten their stuff who aren’t planning on doing that content again, not even within my current classic guild. What i did see was a shocking amount of players wanting to do only 1 boss in BRD and/ or lava runs only, just for their own good.
So basically, i can’t get into the content i need to get the pre-raid bis gear i’m missing in a casual way to perform well in a casual raid during the weekends which has lead to an unproductive weekend.
I’m getting bored at this point not being able to get things done on my classic main (mage on Pyrewood-Village). I have done most of the current available quests, attuned to MC and Onyxia, the only things left are rep grinds and making alts when i can’t get into the dungs i still need doing for drops.
So is this the way it is supposed to be for “casuals” ? I’m not going to sit another Sunday afternoon failing to get anything done and i’m not going to create heaps of alts that’s for sure, i have better things to do.
I don’t think that more than 5% can play 18h / day, my record was 16h a day when I was young lol and even then rarely I did that, most of the time it was 8h / day.
And to answer your question why can some ppl play X hours a day and have no work or w/e?
In short: You are welcome any time to join us, our special clubs name is: “money is for fools, life and free time is more important”.
It is not our fault you value money more than us, I’m sure you make 3 times more money / month than I do and I’m not jelous of your money, you should’nt be jelous of our massive amount of free time eighter, it’s called life choices.
Make the ones you want and then accept your life as it is.
I’m casual (less than 10hr a week), I’m raiding and I already have the epic bow on my hunter.
You just have to find a good casual guild - and be lucky with loot.
Youre wrong, casuals do have end game content.
They have exactly the same eng game as “hardcores” but the progression takes longer.
You have the dungeons and you have the raids when you hit 60. You just gear up slower for more content.
Im 30+ have a kid and own a wholesale bussiness. I’m 60. I don’t have an issue with people not beeing 60 yet but they have to accept their casual fait and deal with it. If how others play (within the rules) upsets you, just quit already and play single player games. Instead of looking at how others play, play your own game. If someone ganks you, fight back. If you cant fight back look for another thing to keep you bussy for a while, be it ingame or irl. Getting frustrated only hurts yourself.
I think you’re confusing the casual playerbase for the entitled individuals who want and demand everything because we’ve been raised into a world of opportunity. From my experience at least, it’s the people with the most free time, who make the most demands. For example, demanding people with less free time than themselves, to lower their expectations from a video game
Well generalization is always bad, but that doesn’t ever prevent something from being true. If you were to sum all the complaint threads from the games inception, i’d very much expect the largest demographic will be made up from what people call no lifers. Now this isn’t a reflection of their personality, (at least not entirely) more so their emotional investment and attachment to the thing they’ve spent their free time doing. I am sure there is a correlation to age and immaturity in there as contributing factors too, however my point still stands. You being part of a demographic, doesn’t mean you behave like the majority do! And majority is just 1 larger than the next largest demographic
