Battle between BFA and Classic

Hello,

Im seeing a lot of “battling” between Classic and BFA.

What are the core differences between these two? I have never played BFA, thats why Im asking. Why did you pick Classic? What do you like in both of them? Why do you play classic or BFA, or maybe both, etc.?

Thank you for your answers.

If you focus on progress pve content play Retail.

If you have a more casual playstile play classic.

I play Classic. I have played many other games since I left WoW several years ago. Several far superior games to what WoW had turned into. I don’t “battle” with those who still play the main game, what they play and enjoy is up to them, although they seem to enjoy trolling and dissing Classic players and they are one of many reasons I left WoW…the toxic Community, thank goodness they are still displaying their misplaced elitism or I might have been tempted to return to the main game. I won’t

I play Classic because I wanted to revisit “old” WoW. I’m not paranoid that it’s not actual vanilla and I’m enjoying it for what it is. When (if) it ends, I shall just return to the last game I was playing.

Hmm

Classic is a REAL mmorp Genre

Retail is more a “buy rp stuff with no rp anymore cause u stand in city click the “addon/ingame” stuff there teleportere you around to different stuff + u aint making gossips, bec ull never meet Them again.

I Will Call retail hack & slash game with a equip ish rp form, where u Can p2 look good.

I feel its more and more like diablo just first person ish. Cant see the difference rly. Tbh

Greater rifts vs mythic +?

cause people are idiots and want to belong to some “cult” so either retail or classic. if you enjoy both you will get lynched immediatly.

if you got an account you can try out retail too. just play what feels best for you

Retail is good for raiding and not much else, in my opinion. I much prefer classic.

Classic is for the, You feel like you did something great feeling , even so you actually did not involve any skill at all.

It will provide you a fake feeling of succes by allowing you to beat every challenge with time.

Retail will give you more different play styles for you to choose. You can do stuff on classic difficult level like lfr, and you can have your feeling of progression or you have the option to go for more hardcore content and get a real sense of accomplishment on the way. Also there is more content than just raiding in it and dungeons don’t get useless after a few weeks.

Don’t listen to people who say retail is not a real MMO. It’s the first sign that someone has no arguments anymore. Read the real scot theory , it explains it.

One of them is an mmorpg.

Obviously retail “is” an MMO, but the point is that retail de-emphasises the MMO aspects / social aspects, and promotes solo play.

If retail WoW was not an MMO it would still work. Classic would not.

What I’m seeing is a lot of retail players who are unable to understand we like classic as it is. They feel the need to come to the classic forum and try to convince us that we really don’t like the game.

I stopped playing soon after Cataclysm. But kept my account open and loged in every now and then.

My most active period was Vanilla, BC and WOTLK.

Classic reminds me how truly awesome this game was. And how many bad desicions the game designers took throughout the years, changing the game into a “singleplayer” experience where everything is handed on a platter.

Ok, Vanilla wow was not a true “Sandbox” game. Actually far from it. But still it has a lot less linear gameplay than the later version of the game. Small cute and lovely details have been removed over the years in the name of making everything more “accessible” for players.

Classic is a wonderful game. I love every bit and pixel of it.

How so? What mmo aspects are missing ?

Inviting people in groups saying hi and be done and leave afterwards ?

I really would love for some to explain what exactly counts as mmo aspect

the high points of BFA are extremely difficult, the low points are mind numbingly dull

Classic is overall mechanically simplistic, with plenty of rpg elements thrown in so that you at least have to pay attention whenever actually doing anything in the game

unless your a streamer, where people play the game for you

I’d say if your looking for an overall funner and more engaging game experience in terms of /played = enjoyment, I’d play classic

If your looking to battle immense challenges, waste some time on the boring sh*t in bfa, and then maybe you’ll get to mythic raiding and find what you seek.

I could make a long list of them but i really cant be bothered.

You would know them if you would think outside the box, be understanding and not be bias

It’s kinda weird how this is always the answer… almost as if people just repeat what some streamer say not really knowing what they mean…

I dont watch wow streams, theyre boring.

Its the answer because i really cant be bothered to take the long time to write it down, because there is no point to do so. i dont get anything about it

Imagine you’re watching the 9th sequel in a movie…
Eventually you’re gonna be bored and ask yourself why do they still keep making those **** movies? - For the sake of money, everything is about money, in retail it’s 10x more evident than in Classic. Because Classic was designed to be fun, retail is designed to keep old sheep coming back while milking them as hard as possible for money, you can buy gold for real money in retail, the economy is ruined, the immersion is ruined because of transmogging gear which you’re not currently wearing, people fly everywhere on giant snakes they don’t touch the ground, you’re a God walking in retail, Champion of Champions you’ve done so much celestial **** that it doesn’t make sense anymore who and what you are. It’s too much. Too many dungeon difficulties in retail, you can go super easy mode, easy mode, normal mode, hard mode hardest mode. In Classic there’s only one difficulty, you beat it or you don’t. Retail tries to cater to everybody while in reality it caters to nobody.

Classic has much more a MMORPG style feel to it, with the emphasis on the RPG. The gameplayer is a slower pace and the end game content is easier but there is a much bigger sense of community / interaction with players on your realm. As well as that gear is a lot rarer as drops are dispersed between large groups of players.

Retail is a lot more modern game in regards to graphics, speed of play, and end game content is a lot more demanding and challenging. Due to personal loot gear is a lot mroe abundant and the game is a lot more revolved around min-maxing your gear for hard end game content. wpvp is really reduced to layering and the itneraction with players on your own realm is limited due to the sharding and layering.

Ultimately retail is a better game for those who want to push them selves in hardcore pve content, min-maxing themselves and are not overlyworried about a realm sense of community and interaction.

Classic is a much easier, slower game but gives you the sense of community on a server due to the lack of layering (ultimately), wpvp is super abundant and the ability to make a name for your self on the server is there. The honor system is somethign that you fully dedicate your self to but the end game content is very easy and very fast.

trolling??

The translation is. You don’t have a answer and are a hypocrite
