Battle of Azeroth Pathfinder

As the title says I found out I need to start Battle of Azeroth Pathfinder in order to fly in Kul Tiras. Do I need to do Battle of Azeroth Pathfinder One and two? And where do I start?

Hey Laghi

Yes, you will need both parts of the achievement to unlock flying, even though only the second one is the one that unlocks fyling, but it has the first part as one of it’s requirements.
Completing part 1 gives you 20% increased mount speed in BfA zones.

There isn’t really a starting point or step-by-step guide you can follow, as most of the requirements for both achievements will be chipped away at simultaneously.
Before you start though, make sure you have both Nazjatar and Mechagon unlocked through the Warcampaign, as the sooner you unlock those zones and their factions, the sooner you can start farming rep for them.

There’s a really great article on wowhead about both achievements that is still up to date for the most part.

I’m taking the liberty of breaking it down for you here, to hopefully make it a little easier to digest.

Part 1 requirements:

  • Explore all core BfA zones (6 zones total, Kul’Tiras & Zandalar)
  • Earn “Revered” reputation with all 6 core BfA factions
  • Complete 100 world quests
  • Complete all 3 zone main questlines for your faction
  • Complete the War Campaign

Part 2 requirements:

  • Complete part 1
  • Explore the 2 new zones (Nazjatar & Mechagon)
  • Earn Revered with the 2 new factions (associated with the above zones)

Once you did all of the above, you’ll be able to fly in BfA zones.

Roughly speaking, completing both parts should take anywhere between 1-2 months of casual play. Here’s a quick overview of the difficulty for each requirements:

  1. The easiest parts are arguably the exploration requirements of the zones, as those can be done relatively quickly.
  2. Along the middle in terms of difficulty are the quest-specific achievements (war campaign and zone main questlines). These will take some time, but can be done in one go nonetheless, especially since you will usually have some of the zone-specific questlines already done through leveling.
  3. Slightly harder than the quests is the 100 world quest achievement, mostly since you’ll only be able to do 15-20 worldquests a day, and doing all the ones that are up can take roughly 2 hours of casual play. This means that doing each worldquest up on any given day for a week or two should usually give you the achievement.
  4. By far the longest and hardest for these requirements are the reputation ones. You will get most of your reputation with core factions through the main questlines, and will then move on to doing worldquests for them (automatically completing the worldquest requirement then anyways).

Now to some general tips:

  • A super helpful tip for the rep grind is to use “Contract: Tortollan Seekers” as they are widely considered to be the hardest faction to gain rep for. The items gives you an extra 10 rep for the Tortollans for each world quest you complete. This may not seem like much, but can help in chipping away at their rep gains. The items can be crafted by players with the Inscription profession or bought on the AH. The Contract items exist for any faction, and you can pick which one you would like to get extra rep for, I just mentioned Tortollans specifically as they’re known to be the slowest.
  • Keep an eye on the in-game calendar. Some weeks there is a world quest bonus, that doubles the amount of rep you gain from each world quest, which is a huge help! The next one is up between the 15th and 21st of September.
  • Don’t go through the requirements one by one. Both achievements are designed to have their requirements be worked on simultaneously, meaning for example that you will be exploring most zones as you do their main storylines, or will be completing well beyond 100 worldquests while grinding for rep.
  • Wowhead has a fantastic completion tool where you can enter your character’s name and server, and it will porvide a checklist/percentage completion for each of the requirements, should you ever be lost.

That’s all that comes to mind, and I hope it’s helpful. Good luck with the grind, being able to fly in BfA is definitely worth it

Thank you so much for taking the time to explain this to me. I did look at wow head and had hoped that there was a kinda order in where I could do things.I registered at wow head but for some odd reason I am unable to log in. I have to confirm my password and when I do it says the email is already in use and I can’t log in with battle net either.Even reset my password. Still can’t log in. Anyway… looks like I have my work cut out for me for a while. I have done A sound plan and now have moved into Drustvar for Drust do it. I have to say it is all very overwhelming and I have looked on wow head how to get Nazjatar and can’t unlock Mechagon and Nazjatar because I am not level 50 yet. It is confusing.
